Cao Biền tự Thiên Lý là một đại thần vào khoảng giữa cuối nhà Đường, được cử sang cai trị Giao Châu tức Việt Nam ngày nan trong vòng 2 năm, điểm nổi bật của vị quan phương Bắc này chính là các chính sách an dân, giảm thiểu bóc lột, xây dựng đường xả thủy bộ thúc đẩy giao thương... khác biệt hẳn với các thái thú, thứ sử tiền nhiệm. Tuy nhiên điều khiến ông được nhắc đến nhiều nhất lại là sự kiện trấn yểm long mạch đất Nam, mục đích để nơi đây không thể xuất hiện được nhân tài nữa, nhưng có thực sự Cao Biền là kẻ làm việc này hay chỉ là cái tên thế mạng. Gao Pian is a high-ranking official during the middle to late period of the Tang Dynasty, he was sent to govern Jiaozhou, which is present-day Vietnam, during a turbulent time for a period of two years. The standout feature of this Northern official was his policies aimed at protecting the people, reducing exploitation, and constructing water and land routes to promote trade, which starkly contrasted with the oppressive policies of his predecessors. However, what he is most remembered for is the event of suppressing the dragon vein in the southern region, with the aim of preventing the emergence of talented individuals in that area.
