- A little while back, we got the Traxxas Solar Flare Edition X-Maxx found here snp.link/be33f5f2 in for the channel and Greg did a quick overview video that seemed to be pretty popular. In the video he mentioned having the WideMaxx kit on hand to install on the monster. Well, the swap has been on hold because it’s been snowing out so testing wouldn’t be easy. But Greg wanted to get the ball rolling and decided on a two parter video series. This video focuses on how to install the Traxxas X-Maxx WideMaxx kit found here snp.link/330e0cb5 and some tips to get the parts installed. I did the +24 offset instead of the wide max kit. No regrets, no issues!!! I highly recommend trying this first, you’ll save money and it’s less work and I love it!!!

I got a Rock n Roll xmaxx with orange widemaxx kit and the scorpion xl powerhobby with red rims. I am changing the body to the jeep gladiator. Both my xmaxx and maxx will some what match.
Hello I have a xmaxx I did not change the oil in the shocks I don't know how to in your video you fill it all the way up and do you tighten the cap on all the way and push the rod up?

How wide is it with the wide maxx kit. My Maxx has the wide kit, HR hub extenders and Proline offset wheels and it is a total of 17 inches wide!

Cool truck, i will be building a new X-Maxx from a roller next year i had one last year but traded it for a v1 widemaxx maxx i regretted it so i will be buying and building my 2nd xmaxx. not sure if i'm going to do the widemaxx conversion to it also not sure if i should do the new sledgehammer tires or the proline trenchers. I'm just watching this for fun i like your channel Greg.

Im new to rc stuff. I was wanting to get the new MAXX truck that's on the Traxxas website. Is this build basically the same concept (wider) or is one model better than the other.
The Maxx and XMaxx are the same truck just one is much bigger and more heavy duty. The Maxx is very light and does have a lot of stability problems which is why they are now making them with the wide Maxx kit. The XMaxx is by far one of the best TC trucks you can get though. Very large truck but handles very well and easy to control.
What electric driver are you using?
These look awesome but one of the tires has already come unglued after just 2nd run also my foam is already breaking down

It is. If you can find one in stock. They normally sell pretty quickly from what I’ve seen.

You can purchase replacement wide arms without purchasing a new kit.
Great channel, my son and I love it! That X Maxx is cool! Does anyone know if a kit like this is available for a stampede? We're getting into this and bash around the yard and other rutted areas. This would be a cool mod for us judging by the X Maxx.
Not sure if they'll make this kit for thr stampede but you could buy wheel spacers if you wanted
Is it the 2wd stampede? RPM makes wider front arms then you can use offset wheels front and rear
@@OverBudgetRC Yes, the RPM Wide Arm kit helps ALOT. I Have it on my Stampede and Rustler.

@@bayouboattrash Oh ok it would work for the 2wd it makes the front the same width as the rear so its the same width as your 4x4 but they don't make any wider arms for the 4x4. but to make them even wider the only thing would be to use wheel hex wideners. I tried to post a link to help you out but my comment gets deleted you can find some on Amazon.

Buddies had nothing but problems with the wide kit. They removed it and never looked back.
My thought with this wide kit is, if it ain’t broke don’t “fix” it… I’ve never had problem with my trucks stability or roll overs and I beat on it… Can’t hold it full throttle and make a turn… but why would anyone anyway…?

Ouch - the widemaxx kit is 20% the cost of a new X-Maxx.
I use PTFE(Spelling??) lube to avoid too much muck ruining the joints. Any grease will just become "grease+Sand dust" within 5mins. Anybody got better tips, please enlighten me🙂

Complaints are that the arms flex to much.
