This album, and specifically Kvitravn made me fall in love with this group. (this song and Helvegen) Something primal about it that stirs the soul into another kind of awakening. Love it.

I'm really loving this documentary. The fundamental mission of Wardruna, as Einar has expressed in no uncertain terms, is to take the valuable instruments, stories and lessons from olden days and repurpose them to the current age. As he himself has said in the past, despite the richness of old societies and cultures, nowadays we know better and we live by different standards, therefore trying to revive old customs is essentially pointless and goes against the idea of progress. This is a notion that is often lost in people within fandoms of this musical genre, which saddens me since the revival of problematic movements is not the intention of these artists and never has been. We must learn from each other, respect each other, and from this interaction, learn to respect our Mother Earth again. Only when we respect life in all its manifestations will we achieve peace. Hi, I'm a 62 year old guy from Mexico, with affinity to Shamanic traditions, I've had contact with Siberian Shamans, Mexican Shamans, Lakota Shamans and also from the Peruvian Amazon, but whet I saw this 5 part series, a bolt struck my. I don't know anything about Runes but when I see them, something shakes my inner cords along with walking in the forest and the concept of hunting for songs is undeniable because it has happened to me. Thank you very much for inviting me into this marvelous world.
I was listening to white raven and looked out side no joke I had trees full of ravens. I looked at my phone and laughed. So I played it on repeat for them.
That's crazy. The same happens when I pray, and do an offering. I always hear them after I am finished.
I love this series so much. I could listen to Einar speak constantly and still be calmed, amazed, intrigued. Such a true artist.
Kvitravn and the title track bring me to another world. When "Kvitravn" plays I feel like my soul lifts on the wings of a raven. It grants me its sight, and i see as it does.
Einar is a Master at weaving these ancient and universal themes into epic and soul stirring pieces. I feel them in my very blood when I listen. This album may well become my favourite by Warduna. Love it!
On a musical note, I think Warduna's music is very multifaceted in an organic way. It flows organically, it speaks organically, I feel it organically etc. The way I feel it is all encompassing. It hits nerves and awakens DNA, it brings peace as well as thought. There is a historical influence here that is 100% natural and relative. Beyond that I appreciate your perspective! Repeating history is so common in SO MANY prominent practices today. It's about transcending time, as long as we can learn from the past and continue to expound on good practices and ideas and grow beyond those that are no longer relevant and have supportive timeless music like Wardruna... we are in good shape❣

Literally what I've been doing my entire life. You said word for word what I do with Scripture. I don't fundamentally change it. I see it as they Saw with Sight Clear, the Waking Dream of the Sevenfold One. By learning their languages, how they thought, and thinking the same thoughts with Increased Knowledge, by Understanding, becomes Works of Wondrous Living Wisdom. Higgaion. Selah. Amen.
Primal, raw and fresh comes to my mind when listening to this album. Love it.

Kvitravn is really an outstanding song. (I can't speak for lyrics) but the it's so recognizable and epic.

That resonates. I was first drawn to this bc of its universal quality more so than the old norse aspect and ancestry. It is a way to use the magic and energy that has existed throughout different time periods and apply it to your inner and outer world.

I think you've confused the languages. Grá/grå means grey in Norwegian. The song is about the grey wolf! People have been commenting on the video that "grá" means love in Irish Gaelic. That's not the language of the song or Einar. Kjærlighet/kjærleik is love in Norwegian.

everytime a awesome "homefeeling" when listening to the songs of Wardruna, i come from germany and my cousin lives in hammerfest and i ask him how fast he learn nynorsk or boksmal, he said with good english it is easier and it took a bit more as a year and maybe after the pandemic i want travel through norway to the north cape only to spit down the cliffs xD just like my old teacher in the
professional school but he smuggled jack daniels in bottles fulled with minced meat for the travel :D
No, don't speak English in Norway, you'll never learn Norwegian properly that way. People will help you in English instead of teaching you Norwegian. I have many English speaking friends. It's better if you pretend to not speak English at all. Try to speak Norwegian only. Finally, the language is always called "Norwegian" (norsk), bokmål and nynorsk are only written standards. We speak dialects. You should not confuse the spoken language with the written norms. We don't follow the written norms at all when speaking. For example, Einar speaks a western dialect, it's not called nynorsk, but it's closer to nynorsk than bokmål. He writes the lyrics using the nynorsk norm, special words from various dialects, and unusual artistic words.
