- Our Top-5 Strains for a Great Weed High
To those who have never smoked cannabis, there is a (mistaken) belief that there is only one high,
and it is because of that single high that people smoke cannabis.
Who wants to tell them just how wrong they are?
How do you explain why they are wrong?
Maybe we should tell them about THC and how varying levels of THC can affect the way our brain
reacts, leaving us feeling either energized, euphoric, uplifted, relaxed, or sleepy.
More to the point, THC is ‘counterbalanced by CBD, which has a more calming and sedative effect.
That is why in many instances marijuana or cannabis is illegal, but CBD, one of its constituents isn’t.
In simple terms, CBD is not a ‘psychoactive’.
Finally, there are hundreds of chemicals in marijuana, and it is the combination of some of these with THC and CBD that can ultimately create different highs, not to mention terpene levels and our own physiology.
So, perhaps we should now look at the varying strains of cannabis that are specifically associated
with a specific high.
Let’s start with Energized.
Think Green Crack. This is a legendary sativa strain dating back to the 1970s and, for obvious reasons, is well suited to daytime enjoyment.
Green Crack is also abundant in myrcene, pinene and caryophyllene terpenes, though knowing that
may leave you feeling none the wiser!
Other strains worth considering for an energy boost are Jack Herer and Durban Poison.
How about uplifted?
Sour Diesel probably takes the crown for this effect, the plant being a potent sativa-dominant hybrid.
Most prominent terpenes include myrcene, limonene and caryophyllene.
If you fancy something less well known for its uplifting effects, check out Super Silver Haze or Tangie.
Now the euphoric high takes a lot of beating, and hence the popularity of OG Kush.
Not only is the high euphoric, it is also long lasting, but it also comes with a codicil.
Where most highs leave you ultimately feeling sleepy or energized, Hindu Kush will just leave you
feeling stoned!
If you want the same high, but without the strength of OG Kush, why not try GSC or Wedding Cake
instead?
If you’ve had a stressful day, then maybe a nice relaxed high is what you need.
Look no further than Blue Dream, which will also add a hint of euphoria to the mix, thanks to this
hybrid cross of Blueberry and Haze.
Dominant in myrcene, pinene, and caryophyllene terpenes, users of Blue Dream are usually easy to
spot when high, they have a great big smile on their face!
Similar effects can be achieved with Apple Fritter and Purple Punch.

Psychedelics saved me from years of uncontrollable depression, anxiety, smoking, and illicit pills addiction. Imagine carving heavy chains for over a decade and then all of a sudden that burden is gone. Believe it or not, in a couple of years they'll be all over for treatment of mental health related issues.
Psilocybin is legal in some states and mushroom therapy is allowed in many states as a legitimate medical treatment. So I believe soon it'll be globally used as a treatment for anxiety, depression, and more.

I get anxiety now in my older age whenever I smoke sativas. I used to smoke a lot of sativa when I was younger and no anxiety. Even a strong indica can give me anxiety. But Blueberry muffin strain doesn't seem to affect me with anxiety. I probably need to build a better tolerance. I was a severe alcoholic and I now have stage 4 cirrhosis. I find cannabis helps me with sleep and appetite which both are affected by cirrhosis. My doctor says that my health is remarkable given the damage to my liver. I started getting better after I started growing cannabis and garden vegetables. It's good for my head. I thank the Lord for giving us every seed bearing fruit for food and medicine. Know what a good thing to do is brother, just have some CBD with your sativa that’s what I do if I have a sativa strain or I get anxiety from smoking I wasn’t expecting I smoke a Vape of CBD with it because it helps keep you even and take’s the edge of the sativa just enough but you still have a good euphoric high.. just a thought man✌🏽

With modern hybrids it's difficult to differentiate between sativa and indicas with some indica dominant genetics expressing sativa effects and vice-vera.

Wow, several favorites on this list: Durban Poison, OG Kush, Sour Diesel, and my all time favorite indica, Grandaddy Purple. Great list!!❤
I grew 2 GDP’s last year. One I took down 8 days before the other to have a lighter more sativa feel to it, and the other stronger and heavier. Three years ago I grew a SD variant called Desert Diesel. You sacrifice a little bit of the Diesel top end for an excellent body stone. Long lasting effects too. I liked it so much that I still have a bunch in the freezer. The best I have grown for sleep is 9 pound hammer. Probably the only strain I’ve had out of many dozens that wants to knock me out.

Good strains listed here. I grew Trainwreck last year; grew to nearly 8 ft tall and produced a huge yield. Very good strain. Blue Dream is also a great overall high. Very functional. I grew CBD Harlequin this year after reading great reviews on this gem. Still curing...can't wait to try it.

i currently have a strain of pineapple express. as the breeders describe it: ~15% thc, and ~3-5% cbd. its great. all over relaxation, not concentrated in the head or elsewhere like some others. purple punch is also on my list of strains to grow sooner or later. after i finish this strawberry cheesecake im about to grow.

My current favorite strain is Amnesia Auto from Seedsman. I've grown it many times and the quality is always consistent. It gives an uplifting, euphoric high that is perfect for chilling with friends or playing video games. Great for both day and night time smoke. It's so good!
My favorite dispensary weed at the moment is Cereal Milk. I will have to give some of the strains in this video a try!

White widow is one of those strains (along with dj short indica blueberry) that i can remember everything about the first time i smoked it. Smoking these strains for the first time was when i realized theres levels to this! I would always lean towards that couch lock indica until i discovered that cerebral feeling of white widow.
Blowing on some very good, all natural and personally grown outdoor purple punch. Very nice indeed.
Trainwreck (for me) is a very clear headed, focused, non-anxiety inducing sativa that is good for getting work done. Its very similar to Power Plant, a sativa strain ive not seen in my state yet. Jack Herer and Durban Poison are pretty good too, though ive found DP to sometimes make me anxious. Ive tried dozens of indicas and blackberry kush, grape pie, ogkb, do si do to be among the best for little to no head high and heavy body high leading into sleep ymmv.

If you can ever find it, Tangerine Power (pretty sure it's a hybrid, indica dominant) is the most euphoric, yet uplifting and relaxing to the body high I've ever had!

Energizing usually comes with euphoria wich I would also call uplifting. (Not being english native) Thats my most beloved cannabis induced feeling for the early evenings maybe weekend day. After that in the later evening let it be stronger and have something more psychedelic / daydreamy without being sleep
inducing. The fruitier the better or spicy and sour.
Early: Hawaii x Maui Wowie, Strawberry Haze,Tangie, Zkittlez (said to be indica but really energizing for me)
Later: Wild Thailand, Chocolope, Silver Haze, Strawberry Banana
Sometimes I want to feel real hammered / stoned I'd go for a classic white widow or a cheese/skunk or a bruce banner (dont like its taste though)
Like to have a strong sleepy indica around if a bad day needs to be deep 6'ed.
Strawberry Cough is another unique strain that fills those credentials.👍

Tangie Cookies are a little heavy (but fun) for myself so I can always go to Blue Dream to keep functioning.
I've got so many dribs and drabs kicking around that many times I'll end up with some kind of mixture in my grinder that might have two-four different flavors with fun results.
With all of those old strains I can't believe they didn't mention white widow. The 4 plants I grew yrs ago felt like redbull and tasted like honey. It was actually platinum white widow.
I swear all the best hybrids have widow in them. WW is a classic banger. I've been waiting to see it at my MOM to pick up a lb. haven't had it in a couple years now.

I bought some GMO (hybrid) the other day at the dispensary with 36.23% THC and 38.41% TAC.
Excellent taste and smell, nice layed back buzz, and it releives some of my leg pain too.
Also known as Garlic Cookies, it's a potent hybrid strain that's grown by mixing Girl Scout Cookies and Chemdawg strains.
Doubt u had that much thc %. Unless it was a preroll infused joint. Dispos are full of shit with there %. If they tell u 36% subtract 10% to 12% points at minimum. Your more like 20 to 25% . Been smoking for over 30 yrs.

Of course, the government has their hands in it, and there's a 20% flower tax added on to all bud, edibles, concentates, & tinctures. (Spend $100.00 and the total bill comes to $120.00)
The plus side is that there's 8 dispensaries in my local area, so i can go online and seek out the best prices, best strains, (for me) and the highest percentage of THC, place my order, and pick it up in 1/2 hour. No more guessing games with street pot, or when/if you'll be able to get it or not.

Got some sour diesel on the black market about 7 years ago. Kept me lifted about 7-8 hours. It put me in another world. Smelled like sweet tarts. It was just a exceptional cultivar. I been smoking and growing for 30 years and have visited dispensaries many times but nothing has come close to whatever I had in that ounce of sour diesel. Currently LA Kush is the best flower in my medicine cabinet

@@jimjr6919 in Missouri it’s difficult to find anything with a THC higher than 28% they advertise the THCA here which can be considerably higher than the actual THC content. When I vacationed in Washington a couple years ago, they had no problem showing me plenty of strains that were 30% and over. Wish I could get Amazon to deliver some of Washington’s finest!

I have a current run of 5 x AK47’s growing now as it’s my personal favorite Sativa leaning hybrid. For me, it’s a perfect balance of energy mixed with a slight bit of euphoria but not to the level of inducing anxiety. It doesn’t leave me couch locked either which I’m not a fan of.

All were positive, fun, spiritual experiences. But, it's been decades. I don't know anyone who knows anyone who can get psychedelics from. I live in LA & there's a Kush store three blocks from my house, but I can't function alone on weed. I wish they sold psilocybin gummies. I'm a little depressed & a little anxious on a regular basis. Love every single breed mentioned in the energized and euphoric categories (have Sour D vape and Yellow Fruit Stripes flower right now), and sometimes move as far towards relaxed as GSC. I'm amazed Gorilla Glue #4 didn't get at least honorable mention in the relaxed/sleepy categories. That and Tahoe OG knocks me on my ass in a half hour or less.
What you think was GG4 was something else , you will not sleep on GG4.

I like how you listed the 3 to 4 chemicals in every bud strain.
They say the terpenes in the cannabis is what controls the mental and physical effects but no one can explain it to a science .
All people do not feel the same effect as others do and the enzymes in the body controls the effects felt is the dominate theory , you must experiment and try several for what suits you.
Blue Dream is my go to when the house needs to be cleaned !!
Put on some good music and the Dream makes it possible to do for Me and my pain……without an overwhelming sativa feel, ❤

I have suffered some pretty bad panic attacks through smoking weed and cant agree that sativa causes more anxiety compared to indicas.
Sativa dominant hybrids seem to work best for me, stardawg being my favourite.
There is a war going on in my country and I started to appreciate cannabis more as a stress reliever and for a positive charge. My favorite strains are Afghani for yoga and LSD for uplifting and pleasure even under these circumstances.
Now i see why guys in Vietnam did anything they could get there hands on , LSD at night seeing the tracer rounds is ridiculous .

Stardawg is currently my favourite all-day strain. Energizing and uplifting yet calming at the same time. Amazing strain. A good list; personally I love a bit of Sour D or Blue Dream. Not a huge fan of heavy body stones that get you couch-locked with ravaging munchies.

Blue Dream. I just found it a few weeks ago and now got my hands on 28g. I want to try the live resin. Mimosa is my go to for my military PTSD but blue dream is amazing for video games. If I can find a in between that would be perfect. Still looking for a good strain with THC-A live resin for my pain. Although blue dream makes me so happy I forget about my pain, lol. I hate being judged for wanting to feel anything other than fear that turns into anger in a heart beat, so happy there are channels like yours that I can learn and be open about my usage.
Blue Dream was my first ever cannabis strain. I heard it was a “beginner” strain because it’s not overwhelming. I really likes it! I would get it again when I have the chance.
I just tried the strain called “Jack Herer” recently. It feels like to be energizing and a little more focused. I feel motivated, and a tiny bit anxious, but it’s a good anxious feeling. Basically I get things done instead of being depressed in bed.
@@NeonElixr I am not a fan of the spice at the end of jack herra. I am learning I like fruity haze strains. Both for flavor and for medical but still have not found that perfect THCA strain.

@@NeonElixr lemon Haze and super lemon Haze are good. Blue dream is awesome. Durban haze I once but want to try again. Sour haze was good. Tropical haze was nice. I have yet to find a strain with haze in it I did not like. But I have not tried them all and I like the ones with a sweet taste. Haze mellows me out, I go from being at a 7 to a 2 on alertness and it lets me live in the moment. Haze slows down time so I seem to have more time to think and realize I am dealing with civilians not military. It basically helps me "turn it off," and allows me to feel other emotions other than anger that I had to shut down or stuff deep down while I was in the military. As drinking was the only socially acceptable way to deal with emotions so we try to kill our emotions. Basically I feel human when I smoke a haze and not like a broken piece of military equipment that has been cast aside and forgotten.

Sour Diesel is the first strain I've ever had that I wanted to know the name of. Never laughed so hard at nothing before. Was great fun. Hope I can find it again someday.
Powdered donuts 1st time I tried this strain, had me laughing non stop! Really takes your mind off pain as well!

I had this strain called Tropical infusion , it was the greatest strain I ever had. It made me trip out so much and felt like I was going for a walk through the jungle!
My recent grow had Jack Herer and Purple Punch in it. Purple Punch .... yes, definitely energizing. You feel high in your head, while your body feels clear and functional. Jack Herer on the other hand.... that one hits you hard and fast. While I could feel the energy from it, he also has allot going on in the euphoric range. So you're high and alert at the same time. Both strains have dense and frosty buds. Purple Punch, she likes to spread her branches and take up space. She gets really colorful near harvest time. If we could post pics I would show you.

@@rodneyturner8804 Grow tip,... use warm water, no hotter than 110-115. Soak them for no more than 24hrs, the place them in moist paper towels in plastic bags. 3 days later mine are in the ground with a 1in. Stem root.

Had Blue Dream once, couldn't move for 2 hours straight. 10/10 will get some again this year sometime in or after April when Germany's cannabis laws are chaning. I'm so nostalgic for Maui Wowie though, only smoked it once and couldn't find it again.

I can't seem to understand why weed affects me the way it does now. I've always smoked on and off, smoked quite a bit through my 20's....i'm 36 now.....and In the past few years i've had a few full blown , what i can only describe as, panic attacks after smoking. The crazy thing is, It seems almost like a physical symptom rather than it being a mental "paranoia" type thing. I feel my neck getting tight and then my heart starts beating like crazy and i can't relax. This will happen when i'm doing nothing, just sitting watching a movie or whatever, even happened to both my buddy and I while we were chilling, smoking a joint like we've always done. I guess your body/mind just changes as you get older, but damn, I can only smoke strains that are weaker 15-18 percent thc and weed that has a CBD content 2-5 percent usually helps as well.

That Blue Dream is a heavy yielding plant. It makes great tasting bubble hash or dry sift if you want to use some of it up. It seems to be very popular with everybody especially the ladies

There are over 1000 strains of hybrids. I've grown Sour Diesel. It sucks. If you want potent bud, I recommend Crazy Glue and Kosher Kush. Good stuff, Maynard.

Sour diesel doesn’t suck it could just be you got a plant with shitty genetics or was grown poorly. I’ve grown some sour d that was super high in thc and produced beautiful almost silver colored buds from the high thc content
@@mattpollock7286 I know the truth behind individual phenotypes and their own unique characteristics. It could be that you're right. But with 999 other strains out there, I have my favorites and my unfavorites. I had bad luck with Malawi and Kerala as well.
