When I was confirmed in the Catholic church at age 51, I was publicly announced I believe in everything the church teaches. It was a 9 month process to discern and learn the basic dogma and doctrines of the faith, which was taught to me in a way that made sense and I agreed to. With all integrity I joined. It pains me greatly to see political leaders and other Catholics who are publicly against these teachings. I guess all we can do is pray for them, but I wonder what happened to them that made them go astray? Didn't they have to make the same profession I did?

Not even a pope can "ban" the Traditional Roman Rite since it is of apostolic origin. A pope is supposed to serve and hand on Holy Tradition and not break from it. So any document proclaiming a "final solution" for forbidding the Traditional Roman Rite of Mass is moot at the get go.

Losing a lot of sound
He can't ban the Latin Mass. It was protected by previous Popes and celebrated by all the most Holy Saints in the history of the church. He certainly can chastise priests for promoting schism, but the ancient rite has been protected by previous Popes. Didn't Pope Benedict specifically protect the Latin rite during his Papacy? I guess only the canon lawyers would know and can defend this most glorious liturgy.
Father is right, other rites are ok with the Holy See. So why not the traditional Latin rite?

Yes, I am aware of modifications and I do not consider that they invalidate the Decree. To modify is to make partial or minor changes to something, without affecting its essential structure, nature or function.
In Mediator Dei, Pope Saint Pius XII is not affecting the integrity of the Quo Primum Decree or breaking with Papal continuity, which in itself is a crime against divine and ecclesiastical law.
I do not accept that Mediator Dei had any intention to overrule or negate Quo Primum. As if a saintly Pope would even countenance such a rebellious act!
It concerns itself only with minor modifications and necessary oversight to maintain the integrity of the Mass.
The Latin Mass cannot be legitimately banned, and why would any HOLY Father ever want to do so?
Since you did not answer my question regarding your personal approval/ disapproval of the Latin Mass, I can only suspect that the latter is the case.

Yes, the Latin Mass is being banned. In my Richmond Va. Diocese our diocesan parish Latin Mass was closed down today. We had the last TLM today! Even though our Bp said, “ I see a need for this Mass.” Evidently our Bp’s. Request for our extension, because it’s been over 10 years was denied.
Keep the faith. Find an Eastern Orthodox parish.
