That sounds about right as a Latina and West Indian women like Cardi. I was raised on these same values. Cause my mom and father did spoil us. However we were taught how everything is earned. So I definitely get it.

Cardi is such a good mom I totally understand where she coming from that why she didn't hire Nanny because she wanted to hand on with her kids that good parenting.

As a stay at home mother of four, I respect her so much for this. My parents were also extremely wealthy while I was growing up, but my mother still stayed home and raised us. I will not let anyone raise my children either. Too dangerous!

She’s raised like I’m raised. She’s Hispanic and raised that way. I am Cuban. And we aren’t raised to have Nanny’s. We’re raised to learn things women do so we can be a clean moms that can make their own food for their kids and bathe them themselves and teach them themselves.
Every culture is raised that way some people d it some don't we are all humans we have more similarities than differences

Felt the same way, couldn’t leave my daughter with strangers. It was always a female family member!!!!Until finally my best friend was her nanny for 3 years until she went to preschool at 4 yrs old!!
I get it also, I grew up with a nanny but good values and morals were instilled in me. I respect her for wanting to be present.

That’s great of her. Rich/wealthy people can literally get an assistant or help or somebody else to do everything in their life, so let them and do the child rearing yourself. It frees up your time if you use help/assistants for the other stuff.

I just love her she's so down to earth such beautiful 😍 kids she's blessed.
Only my family ( mother, father and sister) watch my son as well if i go out of town which is very rare or if i am sick. He goes to at home daycare with my mom's best friend that she grew up with so she is part of our family as well. Also, his 1st year and half of life, he never spent a night without me. He finally stayed overnight with my parents by himself. You have to watch and pray over your children.
That's awesome! But unfortunately some people don't have that kind of support and need outside care.

My nanny was and is still a very much loved member of the family, to the point that she has been with us 20 years, first as a nanny, now cleaning the house a bit. I don't think that a nanny is bad at all because I gained a family member AND my parents spent all their free time with us too. HOWEVER I definitely understand why someone like Cardi B might be scared of getting one for her children. There is always a risk entrusting your child to someone and also for her she is too famous to trust someone she doesn't know. I actually respect the decision way more than the famous people who don't spend time with their kids.

I've been doing it with both boy and girl for almost 13 years now. My husband and I schedule everything around them so we've never needed one. Not bashing on people that do, some people don't have that kind of flexibility or schedule. I don't have family near me so it has been like this since mine were little, it's like clockwork now it just is what it is. My kids like always having mom/dad around.

Good for Cardi, especially being a celebrity she has to be more protective....BUUUUUT I think we need to get away from this "supermom" and "I do everything" messaging in motherhood. Even if you are very hands on with your child (which is amazing), it still takes a village to support a child, especially if you are working. Some people don't have supportive family and need to pay for childcare/nanny, or they make that choice because early childhood education is beneficial in development. Every family is different, but what I've learned being a stay-at-home mom (of special needs child especially) and becoming a career woman is that my children have been served by many outstanding people and I am so grateful to anyone who has taught me their wisdom and has helped my family in anyway to have a good life. It takes a village and that ought to be celebrated (even if it just means a relative helping out now and again). It means more love for the child as a whole.
