Giving New Life to a Tailor-Made Waistcoat

In this video, I'll be showing the restoration process for a gorgeous antique men's waistcoat originally custom made in 2012. Over the past decade of wear, time has taken its toll - many seams were ripped and only held together by tape.
The waistcoat itself featured fine wool, lush silk, and beautiful craftsmanship. My friend was ready to discard it but I saw potential to carefully restore this timeless piece.
I began by fully deconstructing the waistcoat and using the back panel to create an exact pattern piece. Next I selected a stunning William Morris Strawberry Thief print fabric to fashion a new back panel, allowing the back ties to be repurposed.
With meticulous stitching, the decade-old waistcoat has new life - now fitted for a king with a personalized leather label to commemorate the restoration.
