1. Home sickness & sea sickness.
2. Medical emergency at sea (only first-aid treatment available in ship).
3. Distress at sea (risk of accident, pirate attack?).
4. Communication problem (Limited internet inside ship (~50Mb/week for a person)).
5. Not like an office job (no fixed duty time).
6. Lack of homely food (especially difficult for vegetarians if non-Indian ship).
7. Not a permanent job (it is a contract job, salary only during job. 6 month in ship and 6 month in home with salary is a misconception. In rare case, leave time salary also there but salary will be a reduced amount).
8. No social life (will miss family occasions, festivals).
9. Delay in sign on and sign off (unpredictability in job boarding and deboarding schedule).
10. Never ending studies (need to do courses during leave time to climb the ladder).
