  • Europe is more bigoted than America.
Europe may be taking in refugees, but in doing so they're also creating extremist right-wing, ultra nationalistic parties. The 3rd most popular political party in Greece right now is a literal Nazi party. This comes from a combination of austerity measures, as well as their precious homogeneous culture being threatened. The situation is similar in Scandinavia. The Scandinavian countries might be good at implementing social democracy, but let in a few brown people with a different religion and they go marching to their far-right parties. Similar sentiments are being seen all across Europe. The hicks of Europe really want the immigrants/refugees out. lol
Europeans aren't just bigoted towards those coming in from 3rd world countries, either. Oh no. They're also bigoted towards each other. Ask a British man what he thinks of the French and vice versa. One of my favorite jokes from a British friend is, "I'd beat a French man to death with a can of beans, but it's illegal to damage the cans." I get that British humor is dry and sarcastic, but he legit hates the French due to their lack of manners. From other Brits I've spoken to, that seems to be a theme. Hell, ask an English man what he thinks of the Irish and Scottish; the Micks and the Jocks. The Germans hate the Greeks, and in general those from northern countries hate those from the southern countries, with the stereotype that they're all just lazy.
In America, the most that we have is urban vs. rural. Not really north vs. south, or coastal vs. heartland, just urban vs. rural. I don't see Americans hating on Canadians much, aside from their silly accent. There is some hatred towards those south of the border, due to stereotypes of them coming here illegally or being connected to the drug cartels. For the most part however, bigotry in the USA is based on something as shallow as skin tone. Well, that and fundies are bigoted towards those of other religions, and LGBTQ people.
Here's some evidence that Europeans are more bigoted than Americans.

All people, except those still living in the great valley of Africa, are immigrants. We're all African apes, after all. Nobody is entitled to land. Nobody is entitled to the fruits of dead people's accomplishments. Just a bunch of old nonsense and dead people's baggage. Quit carrying it.
The EU cannot turn Europe into a melting pot soon enough. Then they'll finally be as great as the United States, in regards of diversity.
Europe is less racist in its institutions, but on an individual level they are more racist. Both the USA and Europe have racist managers that won't employ someone because of their name. Europe however doesn't have a criminal justice system that discriminates as much as America's does. Both seem to have melting pot cities, but you'll find rural communies in America that are also melting pots. They're not as common as just a redneck rural community, but they do exist. Especially in the south, where you'll find a lot of black people and white people living in rural communities together.
I'd say that the USA is less racist than Europe. Also don't forget, the majority of America did vote for a politician that didn't mind taking in refugees. It's just that our outdated election process favors geography more than popular vote.?
