most credits will go to Atom. the crew was hiding inside the building and cameraman was just zooming the camera. Although of course the crew were brave too but not as brave as the man who actually went outside in the middle of the typhoon

my point on giving my salute to the cameraman/crew is that they always get neglected... they too should have give some credit. di mo lang nakita at si Atom lang nandoon, yun na ba yun? what about scenes behind the footage??? Let this video be the evidence and a lesson in this upcoming another super typhoon rolly. 7 years ago, no one expected the typhoon to be this strong kaya andaming namatay. Sana may natutunan na tayong leksyon dito.

7 years had passed but this typhoon made a big impact to our lives. 15 years old ako nun at in 3rd yr HS nung nag Yolanda. Naalala ko pa kung gaano ka hopeless yung mga mukha namin at that time after the typhoon. Maraming sirang bahay, tumbang poste, nagkalat na gamit, tambak-tambak na basura, mga sugatan at kahit mga patay makikita mo kahit saan😔 Lahat kami di alam pano o kung san magsisimula. Yung bahay naman kahit bato nasira pa din. Yung mga gamit ko di ko na alam kung san lupalop napunta. Yung pagkain namin di pa alam kung san kami kukuha kaya todo tipid para may makain pa sa susunod na araw. Yung mga store o mall sa downtown area lahat pinasok ng mga tao at kumuha ng mga gamit at pagkain. "LUTING" ang tawag namin dun. Tapos feeling ko lahat kami may trauma kasi kapag gabi na, di pa din kami makatulog sa takot na baka may second wave yung tsunami. Yung mga aso kada gabi nag ha-howl, feeling namin nakikita nila yung mga victims na sumakabilang buhay na. Tas nakakadagdag takot yung may maririnig ka na balita na may mga presong nakatakas dahil nga sa bagyo at mag ingat daw kami kasi nang aakyat dw sila ng bahay para mag nakaw ng pagkain at gamit or mas malala baka patayin ka pa. Hanggang ngayon, naalala ko pa din lahat. Sobrang linaw pa nya sa memory ko. Pero kahit ganun, sobra pa din akong thankful kay God kasi buo pa din ang pamilya ko and safe kaming lahat.
Hello. Question, would just like to know. Wala bang mga advises and LGUs na magkakastorm surge at mandatory lumikas esp those close sa bodies of water that time? Kasi i was researching and i saw Kuya Kim na nagbababala for possible storm surges. Also, normally, they would report gaano kalakas ang hangin, ano expected na taas ng baha or something

I don't understand what he is saying, but the view and the danger doesn't need words to express what he is trying to say. He is a legend for the work him and his team have shown the world. We are still in need for more information regarding areas with no communications. Without you being there, it would be days away. Thanks for your efforts, thanks for the reports coming out of your country.
Let's put things simply this way: Whoever wants to commend Atom alone - GREAT! Whoever wants to praise the CAMERAMAN alone - GO ON! Whoever wants to commend Atom + The crew - FUCKING GO ON!! No need to bash people who are expressing their admiration only to Atom Araullo. It's how they feel so you should not be trying to shove into their asses whom to laud or not!pffft! You gotta admit, though, that what Atom did was definitely an act of bravery. The dude certainly got balls!

I was 13, in sorsogon. We were lucky to have low signal number 4 to high signal number 3. I did not sleep that night. The wind howling, windows and doors at the brink of destruction. Most terrifying!

It's the 7th yr anniversary of Super Typhoon Yolanda tomorrow. I am from San Jose, Tacloban City. We live near the coast we struggled to survive, it was such a horrible experience. The kind of experience i will forever remember. Casualties everywhere, we felt hopeless during those times. I couldn't help but cry everytime I remember what happened 7 yrs ago, I was just 13 yrs old that time. All praise to God 🙏 I and my family survived 🙌.
Job well done atom , you're really a good reporter and this shows that you're really dedicated to your job . You're one of a new hero in the philippines !

I'm in Biliran at this time, and went to Tacloban 2yrs after. but h*ck my classmates' emotional survival stories are still vivid in my memory. there experiences are haunting.
Nkakaiyak pa rin. Until now I can still remember what happened that morning na nasa bubong na kami na halos abutin na rin kami ng baha dun sa bubong. God is great that me and my family survived that day. Pati kapatid ko na 3months old palang nangitim na sa sobrang lamig at di namin alam kung anong mangyayari sa amin kasi maraming nagliliparan na mga yero. Kapit kamay at dasal nalang ang aming pag asa nung mga oras na yun, yung di mo alam kung mabubuhay pa ba kayo o baka maanod ng baha ang isa sa inyo. Yung maririnig mo sa mama at papa mo na "mahal namin kayo lagi nyong tandaan" naiiyak na ako habang nag ttype nito. 😢
I woke up at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning. We ate our breakfast. When i go out in the house the rain is really strong and it started to flood. Many people evacuted in our house in the second floor. I was crying,scared and worried. Thanks to God we all survived
Cameras for storms could use lens wipers. Automatic lens wipers, like windshield wipers.

Such a brave man and brave crew. Even I wont do such an act of bravery to that extent, i might get hit by flying debris or something.
For those people who are baffled why the crew was not given much credit, maybe because it took some guts for atom to even report in that terrifying situation.
Imagine standing there while there are debris of some sort flying everywhere . .
