That ActionKid wax figure was so lifelike, I want one!
hahahha man you almost fooled me.
You are just going to drop it.
I could clearly see the melting wax lol
That's hilarious how ActionKid was staying perfectly still for part of the vlog. That's amazing how there are so many wax figures in a museum! A lot of the wax figures like Jimmy Kimmel's wax figure look realistic. Never knew they made a wax figurine of the Obamas! That's pretty cool!
Those guinea pigs were adorable! So cute one was trying to hide. I guess they get a little shy sometimes with all the bustle and excitement of the city.
I never thought Jon Barr in an Olive Garden would be the funniest thing Iâd see so far today. Youâre just sitting there with that look on your face like, âBro, what the heck am I doing here right now?â I love it.
I went to the same Bubba Gump on my first trip to NYC. You gotta understand that for a Latinamerican who doesnât get those kind of places back home going to a Bubba Gump in Times Square is a big thrill. On the other hand I wouldnât go to the best Colombian restaurant in Astoria to pay 25 bucks for a plate I can get back home for 5 bucks .
@@crBudgetWatches Yes i've been thinking about the intl tourist who doesn't have these chains...
@@HereBeBarr I meant thrill! Going on vacation in 2 weeks to NYC, 4th time now. Your videos are awesome and I have outgrown the typical tourist stuff even planning on taking a stroll in Forest Hills this time lol. What a thrill to see you did a collab with Action Kid. You, Action Kid, Sarah Funk, Flossy Carter, MKBHD are my favorite NY CZcamsrs.
@@HereBeBarr Iâm from Australia and we love Bubba Gumps!
In real world, most people are not foodies and would not mind eating at chain restaurants. Most people in the general public just view food as fuel for survival and eat whatâs familiar in their childhood.
Welcome back action kid!!. The point to visit new york is to feel the energy. Don't see how that is possible by eating in a chain restaurant or visiting a wax museum thanks for suggesting to others to avoid it as well.
I miss Kenneth's NY video tours. Thank God we still have Jon.
he's back.
I can't thank you enough for the great advice on the NYC trip. We had a one-week visit and planned our trip mostly based on the cool locations that you mentioned in your channel. Also thanks for your great advice on mistakes that tourists may make. Very helpful and useful!
One thing I've learned from my worldly travels is: Do a little research on the tourist trap places, don't go to them and just lie when people ask if you went to x, y, z. It's your holiday. Go/do what you want.
Wonderful video as always! Good to see you Action Kid
We laughed out loud when Actionkid the wax figure showed up! Very funny!
đđđ
I felt the pain in the waiters voice when the chips slid off the plate. As a server, that shit is so embarrassing. Hahah.
The *ActionKid* Wax Cameo was priceless...
Good Show!! đ
hahaha
@@HereBeBarr great content like usual!! The two NYC legends !!!
Expecting this to be another great video, got a 14 night trip coming up in just over a year so your videos are so helpful, have you made any videos about Zoo's in NYC yet?
The M&M Store is 1 of my first stops when I arrive in Time Square. they offer free shipping with purchases over $250. I load up on birthday and Christmas presents, have them delivered to my work. The merch is sitting on my desk when I get back. They also give away those shopping bags which I put the gifts in. People love getting them!
Omg love these NYC tips. Thnx bro.
đđ
The bromance between Action in Barr fills me with joy
Hahaha
We were at NYC for the first time 2 weeks ago and Iâm proud to say we just fall in the M&Mâs trap. Our kids wanted to try the same milk chocolate m&mâs in unicorn đŠ color đ€ȘâŠđ€·đ»ââïž. I have to say that we enjoy all the food we ate in our trip. Thanks for all your tips!
The m&m store is my go-to spot for bathrooms in the city (esp now that they restricted the Marriot Marquis bathrooms)
Actionkid, aptly named. Needs constant supervision, just like a kid.
And welcome back!
he does!@!
Welcome back AK!!âïž I always enjoy seeing the two of you together đȘ
dynamic duo
Letâs go AK đđŒ đđŒđđŒđđŒđđŒ
Great tips!!
Another fun video. I'm a New Yorker, and I love your take on what the city has to offer.
Guys, if youâre going to choose a chain restaurant, Bubba Gump is a good option. This restaurant is part of a chain of restaurants headquartered in Houston, TX. The quality of their product is very good.
Having just come back Monday gone - Time Sqaure is a one and done visit and preferably early. Too much Weed, everyone rude and trying to hustle everyone. The rest of NYC is amazing
I'm visiting nyc soon and I would love more videos about tourist attractions like these
Great stuff really enjoyed this
Great video amazing content!
Every where looks beautiful love this video thanks for sharing
Hey AK! Welcome back home we miss you! Jon keep up the good content. Love your videos
Glad you're back Action Kid. Looking forward to seeing more your footage guys.
So nice to see AK & you together again. He did such a fantastic job of being the wax figure, I was starting to believe it was real. Lol. Great video again, worth watching just for your facial expressions in Olive Garden.
I was fooled. His skin is really shiny.
@@arg888 Right & he held so still, not a movement. đ
Iâm here from Miami for the weekend and love your videos! I tried Los tacos and omg your were right! Keep ââem coming!!!
Love a good collaboration â€ïž the Action Kid introduction was hilarious đ
Love this bro! I'll be in NYC in May hope to see ya!
Bubba Gumpâs is defs one of the least horrible of the Times Square Chain Restaurants, however Olive Garden is only somewhat enjoyable if youâve got a good seat. Itâs not exactly the best lottery to play with so many better options for views and food.
Youâve gotta stop at the MnM store at least once in your life tho. If for anything, just to pee and observe the overwhelming amount of multi-colored chocolate, but honestly once is enough lol
Just to pee hahah.
@@HereBeBarr Itâs been my reprieve a few times now!! That or the McDonaldâs after getting something off the dollar menu if I really canât hold it hahaha
Great Video Guys!!
On Times Square I would definitely recommend Virgilâs bbq, the food and service was amazing. Think we were the only couple in there that wasnât just sitting on our phone, we were laughing our heads off at life and enjoying our time in the big city â€ïž
Great Video!
Some of the attractions in Times Square are fun. But afterwards you never walk through there again. You go as a joke. đ
Great to see you and AK together again! Made me giggle!
I've been to NY several times and never done any of these things. I don't go anywhere near Times Square if I can help it. I don't even stay in Midtown as I feel other parts of the city are much more authentic.
Great vlog! Thank you.
Anyone who is old enough to remember Times Square back in the day, it was filthy literally and figuratively. Thank goodness smut land is gone. Now it's commercialized and family oriented too.
my daughter is literally been begging me to take her to this m and ms store, i'm glad i know theres a neat hidden bathroom in it now!
low key - that seat at the olive garden is #1 best place to view the ball, you're right. I wonder what that goes for on new year's.
Fun video!
I love the collaboration with Action Kid.
It's very true, whilst being in time square as a European is entirely epic!... You can spend a lot for not so much, I wish I had more ideas for things to do that were more authentic. That week went very fast!
Love action kid !!!
I visited Times Square twice (as I had different fellow travellers), but we never had the idea to eat there or visiting some places there as Tussaud's. Too many scams around, and we enjoyed other places in the city of New York much more.
We just returned from our 6 day trip in NYC. Watched a lot of your videos before we went! Knew to avoid the tourist traps and ate our weight in 99 cent slices. Only walked through Times Square to get to Moulin Rouge.
I never thought Id see the day that Jon would dine at the Times Square Olive Gardenđ our local Olive Garden sounds very comparable in quality.
I saw JOLLIBEE!!!! I've been there! hehehe.
My husband referred me this and loved itâ€âŠ new subscriber
Awww, I missed guinea pig & chinchilla lady while we were there last month. I actually would've bought into that one. đ
Olive Garden actually started in Orlando with a location somewhere in downtown Orlando. It was taken by the Darden company which also owns red lobster and a couple other chains. Honestly itâs an ok place for what it is but unless you just come from doctorâs visit or donât have much choice you know. Olive Garden is always an after doctor place for me as it fills you up well enough as you need the carbs and meat in you as you are so exhausted after doing blood and tests, itâs enough to get you home thatâs for sure.
I've lived in Orlando for years and never knew this. I'm a fan of the restaurant though lol.
Thatâs why, I get the extra Alfredo sauce, when I order chicken Alfredo at Olive Garden. Theyâre food is okay and the restaurant is expensive. Even here in Michigan.
wow seen "Jollibee" in the background, the same fastfood we had our dinner, when we were there in NYC.
Hi Jon and Hello to Actionkid.
That is a good videođ
However I am one and done with Olive Garden. Ate at an Olive Garden in Bensonhurst and the food was not that good. The service was decent.
Lol such a great video. I really hope Action Kid moves back to NYC. LIVE STREAM LEGEND
Hi - Here Be Barr! BIG FAN of all of your different kindâs of helpful/guided tour/general NYC guideâs. Anyways, long story short; been meaning to ask you ( Local New Yorker to another New Yorker ) whatâre the BEST spotâs and or placeâs for cute little couple date ideaâs that YOU (personally) perhaps would highly, strongly recommend/consider..đ đ€·đœââïž
Take the Roosevelt Island Tram to Roosevelt Island and have a little picnic/wine with a view.
This video was gold đ I still remember the video when action kid dropping his drink in the park wow flashbacks đ
đ„łđ„ł
At Time Sq on Friday was so crazy đčđč
I went to M&M world years ago and it was packed but nice. Given the topic of this video, you should've also showed the McDonalds in Times Square. I was there back in 2013 close to Midnight and it was VERY packed, with people practically on top of each other on both floors. That McDonald's is most definitely one of those tourist traps that you want to avoid.
McDonaldâs closed
Went to the wax museum on october last year and it was awesome
10:31 didn't know that, thanks! Last time I was in Times Square, both the McDonalds and the Starbucks Reserve did not have working bathrooms. A worker told me to go to the Marriot Marquis. Just take the elevator to the main lobby to access the bathrooms!
Action Kid is in NYC right now too!
Just watch it. Thanks for bringing ActionKid back to NYC lol. This clumsy guy has some huge calves! This walker guy! That Olive Garden has amazing views... Geez
I just saw Adriana's Instagram post!! Congratulations to the both of you. What a beautiful, precious little boy! You will fall in love like never before!!
Thanks đđ»
It's great you teamed up with AK.I have never been to a Wax museum, thought about it ,but no ,usually the price is high .I do reccomment freaky horror-campy movie from 1988,Waxwork. Bubba's looked ok ,the prices were reasonable for NYC Olive Garden I go to a few times a year ,and a few menu items are decent.
9:58 Action kid's back in NY with a bang!
Will be visiting for the first time in December ! Can you do a video of recommendations please ! đđđđđđđ
That was museum looks FUN! I want a pic with all the marvel charactersđđ€·đŸââïž Would have NEVER thought about it but you mentioned it as a trap, soooooooâŠ
Great video and for actionkid lol
This video is making me want to go to Applebee's now. Haven't been there in ages!
Just imagine Los tacos at the Olive Garden location, đ mmm. Nice seeing Ken again, as clumsy as ever, we still miss him! đ€đđđ»
đ€«
Besides M&M which agree is cool havenât been to other 3 places either (least in Times Square). Btw you can also personalise M&M. As for if hungry and not feel like paying much can just go for Dallas BBQ :)
đđŒđđŒ
"tastes like chain restaurant pasta..." yep!
I wouldn't consider bubba gump shrimp as a tourist traps. Also, when i was younger, I ate at the Olive garden in times square like once. That was probably 19 years ago. lol.
Hey man, I'm fairly new to your channel so excuse me if you've ever covered it, but what do you think of the Jekyll and Hyde Club?
ActionKid testing out gravity there... đđđ
I can't wait for my trip to New York at the end of November for 5 nights, can u help me with the weather plz what's it like, and what's the price of living,we coming from the uk đŹđ§ for 5 nights staying in the newyorker
Hi Jon ..I was there about 2 weeks ago at Wax M but I didn't go inside. I took a pic with Jimmy đđčđč
Honestly I would probably only eat at the hard rock cafe, Krispy items donuts, or sbarro of the many touristy options in times square! So cool to see action kid back in NYC... Like the joke of him being a wax statue at madam tussands ! I always enjoyed visiting madam tussands but I strongly advise avoiding Louis tussands because the wax statues are not as good quality because! I love m&MS world but I had a better experience at Hershey wordl
The Price Was Right â ïž at Bubba Gum Shrimp đ€ & the đč looked đ. I'll stop by.
Happy hour secret đ€«
If you're a local and bored, tourist mode in Times Square would give a jolt from your mundane existence. After all, you live in the greatest city in the world.
New York City was only the 7th most visited city of 2022! NYC isn't seen globally as must visit like it used to be in its heyday.
Whereas London arguably the Capital of the World was 3rd. And on course for being the most visited city of 2023 đ
Haha..here in Orlando we have Madam Tussads in touristy trap area International Drive area. It opened in 2015 and I only went once and never again lol. We also have Bubba Gump at City Walk.
Nice
Ate once at Olive Garden, swore I would never go back
Especially in NYC, where there is a good Italian restaurant every couple of blocks.
Iâve literally never been to America and in December this year I will be visiting New York and I donât find much appealing about Times Square because I have a better sense of adventure.
I think I saw you drivong on franklyn ave in brooklyn
Shout out to Action Kid!!!!
The Guinea pig lady đđđđ
Iâll say two things in defense of the chain restaurants: first, international travelers probably donât have experience with US chains, so it might be a novel and interesting experience for them. Second, if youâre traveling with picky kids, itâs probably safer to go to a place like Olive Garden. But yes, for everyone else, skip the chains and eat local food!
I love wax museums! đ
This is not a trap I went to the museum and had a great time . The whole NYC is a vibe !! Enjoyed it all even just sitting in Times Square was great !!
Don't talk crazy
Hi.. we are from Montreal visiting New York City on the weekend of Oct 6-8 ..do you know ,by chance, any bars/spot that would host like a watch party of the Walking Dead tv show? We already booked our hotel but we are not sure if we can watch it in the hotel room and we don't want to miss it
Thank you for the video! I think I need to go to Bubba Gump lol! Never been. đđ
I love Times Square even though it's a huge tourist trap. To me, it's the Heart of NYC.
Funny story, I got lured to Bubba at the Cancun airport as they have a souvenir shop there đ
Hay quĂĄ
WOW
I have to admit some parts of the wax museum looked fun. Stan Lee looked amazing! I'd pay $5 to see it, which means I'm not going to see it
Iâd pay $5 too!
