I felt your pain when you couldn't place that inverted slope. really sad they still haven't found a fix for that in 3.0.
I did not have an issue with it the entire time until I pressed the record button (my luck lmao).
@@DrB048 If you guys are talking about the point at 16:33, the fix I found while following along was to leave the flat wall facing the other pillar and remove the two walls around it. I was able to place the inverted wall after that
I found that the real issue was the ceiling piece itself, I was so frustrated but I had to resolve it so I just removed every piece around until I could place. Low and behold, it was the damn ceiling and yes today it is still an issue 😂
It's what I imagined Raistlin Majere's Tower of High Sorcery at Palanthas looked like. Great work.

Inverted sloped wall piece is always such a horrible child of unwed parents when it comes to a wedge being anywhere within 7 leagues of it.

I felt your pain when you were trying to build the corner piece for the bridge. Nice tower, I wanted to build the tower of Dracula from Castlevania, but the stability issue made it impossible until now for the hanging towers on the sides.
PS: Thanks for the pillar tip with the stairs, I wondered how the hell to create them on the center of a 4x4 for a while.

I REALLY love this tower. And that little cove is the perfect spot for it on Siptah. I am going to have to tool around the EL and see if I can find a similar location for it.
Their is a nice spot at the entrance of the highlands from the savannah that has a small rock pillar similar to the one I built off of in this video.
@@DrB048 Come to think on it, there are rock pillars in several places around the highlands. Including one in River's End.

Yeah, it took me a while to fully understand the stability of a structure. Now that I've been doing this long enough, I don't have to think much about it anymore o.O

I made the pillars like in your video but when i logged out for the night and came back the next day, they are showing as stability 127? and I cant put anymore on top of the previous ones? :( I am on a PvE offical server btw. EDIT: ok it seems the pillars loose stability after a server reset, that sucks :(

Prolific! I started experimenting with turanian pieces to make kinda domes and onion domes. Mughal turanian look is my aim.

Sir…I just came back to the game after two years…one of the things that frustrates me most is the damn pillars…I skipped to the end to see the build finished and saw you throwing them pillars up…I was livid but went back and watched how you did it 😂 now I want to call out of work so I can practice this
Update…I’m not proud of how long it took me to figure out arena stairs were too heavy but they were what I already had made 😂😂…also I want to start a new server bc I don’t want to tear down my work just to do the look I’ve been looking for 😂😂😂
Can certainly see some advantage to changing stability loss to allow 5 or 6 build off from 100.
I love the new change! but I probably still stick to vanilla stability builds.
Do you remember the location you chose for the showcase screenshots? Looks like some kind of island or rock outcropping.

I have a suggestion on the floating building on the bottom use 6 stormglass windows before the cap and add blue and white lights as a power source to make it look like its powered in flight. Really makes it pop use two blue torch one white torch per wall
love the build, think you could make it to fit 2 or 3 god alters for bubbles? I know it's pve style but if you could I'd build it on pvp sever
Alls you would need to do it enlarge the tower just a bit.
11:21 how do you get this ceilings placed? And especially, how can they alle be green while placing all the time? Istn't stability normally limited to 4 pieces?
Their is a new option in the admin panel "ignore stability loss." I mention this within the first 30 seconds of the video and it is a must for the build.

Beautiful build. Why did you start with stable pillars and switch to reinforced? Any constructive reason?
When building without mods, I used the stable ones because they are smaller than regular ones and don't obstruct piece placement like the other ones do. Once I got all my walls, windows, and door pieces placed, I can then go back through and change out the stable pillars with the pillars I actually want.

i once built a similar-sized Yamatai-style pagoda, with a large Japanese/Yamatai castle and temples as workshop/storage on a PVE-C server, even tho, i left it without a door, all chest were open on Raid Day, somebody still had the nerve to blow it all up from the first floor. i left all items for the taking, just so they wouldn't need to blow the building up. i even had a sign placed that items are free to be looted, just dont damage to place. ngl, i ragequitted,
Some people just want to watch the world burn.
They should have added corner snap points for columns.. especially if it doesn't give stability anyways.. it's just anesthetics, what's it hurting

how did you get that floating turret on the side of the tower to work. it looks like stability should have been an issue. is there a trick to it?
At the time the video was made, it was to show off one of the new admin panel options "ignore stability loss" that was added in during the first season of the Age of Sorcery update.

I tried it, ended up liking the asym look better.
First, the turtle at the end made me laugh. Second, can all of this be done on series x? I mean, I got a tower but Im fighting with the overhang ( small tower on the side) .
The tower can be built on console. When it comers to the side tower you will have to enable the "Ignore Stability Loss" option in your admin panel.
How did you get through building restriction with that side building?

Great build as always! I've tried replicating this build multiple times on Ps4 in admin mode, with "Ignore Stability Loss" enabled. But, when I start to build the second tower, it automatically disables itself and won't enable again.
Weird, it might be a bug in the game.

it have no SI right? i was not able to build the little tower there.
You'll have to enable "ignore stability loss" in the admin panel if you want to include the mini side tower.
How were you able to build out that far from the main tower with out the structural support.

The tower was built on a flat terrain and showcase is showing it on most impressive location. What happened there? Did you build it twice or is there some trick how to move entire buildings?
I built it on the flat terrain first for the building segment to show that you can build it almost anywhere. I then went to another location for the showcase version and rebuilt it.

Do corner pillars give stability?
No, unless their is another portion of the structure directly placed and centered above the placed pillars.

They definitely changed the building mechanics cause before sorcery you wouldn't been able to make that hanging tower without pillars going all the way down or mods.
Could you do a quick tutorial on how to access the admin page and use it? I have never played without a mod called Pippi that uses its own admin panel and commands. Unfortunately, the author is retiring and not passing his mod onto another modder.

You can build most of it, you will just have an issue with the top if it and the little side tower.

One was built specifically for the showcase, the other for the speedbuild.

I cannot get the fence pieces to snap on the front of the walls. What am I doing wrong?
What exact piece are you trying to use?
@@DrB048 I don't have the arcane fence or window pieces. I was trying to substitute Turanian fence for the arcane fence pieces you used to decorate up the exterior walls. None of the other fence pieces will snap on top of a wall for me either. I substituted a stormglass window and arched window to make up for the arcane windows that are two stories and that looks great. I have seen other videos where you and other builders are able to snap fence pieces onto walls, but I have never been able to make it work. Thank you for all of your beautiful work!

The outer tower is not working any more i build a pillar under now its working
Cool build so sad it could never be built on most servers do to a admin features that would need to be enabled... would like to see this done without creative mode, fly and stability settings enabled.
Most of the build can be replicated on a server. The only thing would be that you wouldn't be able to include the side tower.
I wish I could download this map but no one ever seems to make it possible

"Ignore stability loss" its an option found in the admin panel. At the time this build was showcasing that new stability option.

I cant seem to get the caps to work on the top, it wont let me place floors/celings on the stable struts
Is their any other pieces like windows or walls that are obstructing the placement?
@@DrB048 not as far as i can tell i place the struts like you do and then delete the walls and try and place the ceiling on top and its just greyed out and doesnt snap, only thing i can think of is its a stability problem cause im on official servers
@@GnikWerdna That's your issue. To complete the build you need to enable the "ignore stability loss" option :/
@@DrB048 yeah, sorry thought it said it was doable except the side tower so figured id check for a solution, im gonna try changing my in game build to the +25% stability perk and see how it goes lol
nice build, a little small inside but nice
The floor space is small depending on which level your on but, you can fit all of your top tier crafting stations in it. Not all of the rooms were featured in the show case.
also how did you keep your stability in the green on the small room that extends off the tower?
I wish you would make builds that anybody can build on other people's servers. not everyone can fly around al the time
Not being able to fly doesn't prevent you from building these builds. Many many people have completed these builds without the use of admin commands, so I'm not sure what the issue is.
On console the pillars don’t count as supports for some reason I wonder why that is.

I'm trying to build a similar tower on an official PVE server on console. I've made it to the top where the fir roof slopes in and am losing stability. I was hoping this would be possible without the little floating tower. Has anyone else had luck building this?
You might be able to complete the top with the extra stability perk. Not sure though.
