I love this performance of Abbas where he displays arrogance throughout the movie and maintains that attitude perfectly up to the climax even when he is losing the girl and getting his heart broken. Such a wonderful nuanced performance.
Both him and Madhavan are shown as gray. At the end it will be tough for the viewer to decide who the better man is, because Abbas is not giving up the girl because he’s selfless. He is very egoistic and can never imagine his partner in love with someone else. That’s his primary motivation to give up his love.
