- Demi Lovato performs her song "Warrior" live for the first time at Red Light Traffic's Dignity Gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, hosted by Don Lemon on October 18, 2013, an event dedicated to raising awareness to fight human trafficking. She told the audience it is the first time she's performed the song live, and that she didn't even rehearse it beforehand.

This was a perfect performance because of all of its emotional imperfections. If you listen to the line, "I've got shame, I've got scars," Demi didn't sing it. That is probably one of the most bluntly honest lines in the song because she is admitting that yes, I have took a blade to my skin and I have scars to this day because of it. She is a warrior for herself but she also has the strength to be a warrior for me and the rest of her entire fan base. I look at the interview where she says that she will never perform this song live because of its emotion, but then I look at this video and she's on stage singing her heart out. That is true strength and courage.
You're right. I didn't think of it at first, but I replayed it and she sang "I'm not sand, I'm not sky." Wow. Truly shows how emotional this song is for her. And just look at her now. So proud of her. She's come a long way; she is truly a brave warrior.

She didn't want to cry, that's why she didn't say 'I've got shame, I've got scars.' It's the most honest line in the song, and she would've obviously broke down.

At the end of the video, i could not keep my tears anymore. She felt the song in her every cell and made us feel all the emotions inside her. She couldnt even sing some lines, if she sang she would probably cry. Because this song is her whole life. I'm so proud of Demi. This was perfect.

Guys this song is about getting over all the things she's went through, not about rape or sexual assault. It's the sequel to Skyscraper, she's talking about all the bullies, demons, and her past. But she's over come them all which is why this song is so meaningful. But even though she has it still has an effect because it is about the past and sometimes your past can be more terrifying then the future.

It's obviously about sexual abuse... Everyone can interpret it in their own way but Demi clearly is telling a story of her being abused as a young girl...

She was asked during her Cosmopolitan interview what this song is about and she said that she has talked a lot about her teenage years but she never talked about what happened when she was younger..she wouldn't answer what the song was actually about. it's 2021 and this song hits different to listen now that demi confirmed and tell us what happened to her. She was abused and raped. This is just too sad. She truly is a warrior for surviving all of her traumas. ☹️

Couldn't be more proud of someone I've never met. Regardless of if this was her best vocal performance or not, does not matter. I am SO proud of Demi for performing this song live. You can tell by her expression and her voice that this song was almost impossible for her to be able to sing live. She did an amazing job seeing as even Nightingale is harder for her to perform. I'm so unbelievenly proud of Demi for singing this song though. And also that when she was bullied she was insulted so much. Society in school forced her to visualise and to try to change to become their idea of perfect. This is represented by a little girl grew up too fast. she can't turn back time and get her innocence back. Her innocence of just being herself and not judged that much by society and their ideas of perfection. And all it took was once of their insults and she was never the same innocent pure girl again. But now she taking back her life. And she's not gonna be controlled by their judgements anymore. This is shown by now im taking back by life today. Nothing left that you can take.. she was sure that No matter what The bullies were never gonna take the blame for causing her pain Anyways. For it was their idea of correct and perfection. How do you know this isn't about sexual assault in any way? It certainly sounds like it could be and she hasn't told everyone every detail of her life. It might be but even if its not whats wrong with people relating to it that way and healing with it? Nothing. It's a powerful emotional song no matter how you take it or relate to it.
