- Welp ai may just cook us for the last time. May all us artists rest in peace.
I also feel obligated to clarify some things because some people are getting confused in the comment section. “Has anyone even gotten an approval message” no, this opt out option just came out. This is the page you are directly linked to from the Privacy Policy page for requesting your information. Unless they removed a different form, this was all I could find. Also this is what the United States sees, different countries see different things and pages. The UK simply got a pop up, some Canadians don’t even have the option to opt out, other countries within the GDPR just had to fill out a single box.
So turns out this doesn’t work to opt out. So ig you cant really do anything but delete your account if youre worried about your data. Personally idm but yall talk to your guardian if your a minor and as an adult make a decision that works for you.
By the way this is only if you absolutely need the apps(facebook and instagram). Deleting them alongside your accounts will do the trick as well.
If you have any other questions please directly contact Meta. Im just an independent artist who doesn’t nearly have enough time to dedicate to this further than I already have. Thanks.

@@NikeyMiniyuhPeople don’t like their art being used for AI training. While artists can still draw, it feels like their work is being discredited for a machine to replicate imitations of it. It’s unnerving for many to see their craft being replaced by an algorithm, producing a sufficing work in seconds with no thought or years of effort behind it. Another reason artists dislike it is its role in the industry, where it will and has taken jobs. Many were also unaware that it was being used to train open AI. But in addition to generative AI using other people's content, they could also use mine, since I was included until I marked otherwise, and i didn't know how to do it until i found out myself. I really want to send this, but i don't know what to put in the "send a picture with proof" part. Someone said they put a middle finger, and i really want to do that, but i'm also scared of what might happen, or if i would end up exposing myself (especially since my account is pretty much dead and only has a single drawing on it right now, but that STILL doesn't mean they should use that drawing, and also because it was a collab with a friend and i'm 100% sure hw would not want to have his drawing being used in generative AI either)

It should be "opt in", not "opt out".
Something we should bring attention to is that every single one of these platforms give the opt out option to you. But that's the thing---they automatically have it opted in. You didn't have a choice on what they did with your stuff before you hit that button.
Also if it's opt in already, how do you opt out? I think this was already mentioned last year and nobody answered it...or basically the answer was: Actually there is no way to opt out once you've already opted in, but we added that option so we don't see it as ethically wrong.
The first thing I thought was literally "for fu*ks sake!"
AI should be opt in, not opt out!!! Now I have to give instagram SOME of my personal information in order to prevent from literally ALL OF IT being stolen 😐
Frs. If they rely heavily on using art without consent because otherwise their program won't function then they shouldn't have ai art be a thing to begin with. Pay actual artists to opt in instead of being scummy and steal from people
I personally hate how bigger companies are using AI (even though the quality it produces doesn’t have a soul) to cut back costs of hiring artists. Like somebody who’s learning to become a 3D animator, it is very disheartening. The industry is already hard enough to get into, and when you get into it, sometimes companies treat and pay you poorly. And with companies foolishly using AI to take those artists spots, it’s so infuriating.
I would encourage animators, 3D artists, musicians and any artist, to make their own circle and if possible, find people who are co-operative. Only if 2 person comes together, that maybe means you will work for "free" to each other, but at the same time, you will be able to get ahead with a unique combination of skillsets.
I help my friend with photography and recording, I fully assist her through to get the best video footage possible. She is a musician. Without a music designer or someone who is able to compose unique tracks that is epic and designed specifically for my needs, I would have to worry about how to choose non lofi sh*t that isn't gets me a copyright strike. I would totally get her an animator or a 3D artist If I could find one.
I'm a designer and I will never go back to work under corporations that pay me sh*t and abuse me for that. Eventough I went through academic studies, that means nothing for a suited monkey. Not to mention SA. I rather work free for a few years but for someone I trust.
It just occured to me that if big film industrys start making people redundant it could over saturate the indie artist scene and drag down artist viability as a whole
Please don't be disheartened! There are still many of us who appreciates human-made art. AI can never replace the attention to details a human can produce
I bet it doesn’t even cut back costs, they were just sold the idea that it was by these ai bro scammers
Well, they denied my request to opt out. I might give it another try, but honestly, I might be halting posting art on my Instagram accounts indefinitely until they fix their fuck up and let people opt out when they say they want to opt out. This is a a billion dollar corporate giant that could have easily gotten voluntary participants to develop it’s generative AI. This should have been an opt IN in the first place. I’m disgusted.
they,,,, what???!? denied your request to opt out?!? wtf....
@@snow3pea Yeaaah. For those of us in the US, we don’t even really have a true opt-out option; they instead give us a form that says we have to PROVE that our information has been compromised. Basically, they aren’t willing to do shit until the damage is already done and our artwork blatantly ends up in a generated image. No one should have to prove anything to simply say they don’t want their shit in a glorified robbery machine
they denied mine, too, saying, and i quote: "we are unable to identify any examples of your personal information in a response from one of Meta’s generative AI models. As a result, we cannot take further action on your request."

I’m absolutely disgusted and appalled by how stuff like this is even allowed to happen, This is extremely scummy and awful that you have to send in a request to opt out when it’s not even guaranteed it will get excepted and you were opted in without your consent. I feel as though the concept of ai art is somewhat cool but the way people use it is awful, it would be cool for coming up with oc concepts but the people who use it almost never have good intentions and use it in a way that put artists out of their jobs. Artists are extremely undervalued and under appreciated and I’m sick and tired of being repeatedly disrespected for just trying to do what I love.
It feels like we’re just stuck, all we have are these billion dollar croporations that don’t actually care about us sharing our work and passions online. Adobe have also introduced AI to their programs, and as much as I would like to quit and go elsewhere, there are literally no other alternatives. I mean, unless they want to pay me commission.........And AI will never be "fully developed" since its data set is every piece of art, photo, etc that is available online, and since that is ever growing so does AI have to be ever growing. AI can be a useful tool, but the data set it uses needs to be asked for and financially compensated for since the person who programmed said AI did not supply that data set with their own pictures, art, voice, words, everything. And THAT is how you make AI art ethical. Unfortunately, since people are involved, many of them greedy PsOS that are jumping on the AI trend to make a fast buck.....well, enough said.

People, should we at some point just start creating many upon many upon many fake accounts and post terrible art while commenting and liking and positively engaging with other such posts so that the ai uses that to train itself and eventually just end up looking horrible? Idk, I feel like if enough people do it we’ll be able to accomplish at least SOMETHING, right?
Ai scrap to train ai scrap? As long as hard working artists out there agree to this. Everyone who hates ai can band together to just spam ai art onto social media to feed it messy stuff to eventually ruin the database since fun fact- ai uses random colors everywhere to make it look like something so it's not only soulless art but also messy art! No ai should be able to recognize what's going on in their own generated scrap box
Not a day goes by that I don’t wish companies weren’t so greedy. Pushing for AI, advancing it all so they can stop having to pay people. Artists are losing business and struggling, AI channels make thousands off of automatically generated videos, voice actors lose business because AI can just replicate their voices. We need more regulations. We need to stop pushing for AI so much before it’s too late to turn back. It blows my mind how anyone thinks AI reaching higher intelligence and being capable of doing all this isn’t going to backfire. I want to be a voice actor but I’m worried it’s not even worth it if I won’t be able to get a job because of AI.
The fact that this isn't illegal is the second dumbest thing about the whole situation. The first is whoever came up with this idea 💀
From the instructions it gives, this thing is for after you've seen yourself generated on an AI of some sort. The screenshot and prompt window are to prove your info's there. Pretty shitty if you ask me, if you can't prove your info has landed on their databases you can't submit it for deletion, so it's pretty worthless because unless it's like ChatGPT giving your name and home adress or phone then you won't know you're there, and if it's a generated image suspiciously like your art style then "Aaaaah but it could just be someone that draws just like you!"
This makes it even worse. So like does that mean I literally can't opt out untill all my art and everything about me and the way I exist as a person has ALREADY BEEN STOLEN? What's even the point then!!! It's like in order not to die, you have to die first to prove that you died or something, and then they won't let you die... But you already died! Don't ask me why that was the first comparison that came to my mind that's just the angry mood
Yeah I just followed the tutorial and learned you can’t opt out
@@HameleoshaDeHoga I got an e-mail today from Meta informing of the option to actually opt out, it's called something like "opose the use of your data on IA meta" (I'm Spanish so it's probably not word for word) and it actually let me submit my opt out form there. Dunno if it'll be available for everyone, t might have to do with my region, being from the EU and all. But if anyone wants to check it out, it's now available for some of us.
They have to aprove of you opting out, though, so... Who knows how willing they are to actually go through with it... I invoked the fact that I owe the copyright to my work, fingers crossed. Incredible to think I've alwayd uploaded my stuff for free, never got any money from it, everyone looked down upon artists, but now everyone's out to get a piece of the pie.
Also, if anyone tags you in publications, that's their for the taking, you can't opt out from things people tag you in. You go to a party? That picture is theirs. Someone reuploads your art and tags you in it, like the bajillion pages that do exactly that? Your art is now theirs. Loopholes...

AI is the reason why artist’s future is doomed. At this moment, we live in a world where we don’t have freedom, illegal things are starting to be not so legal. Why the world wants us to be unsafe, our privacy being in public? Enslaved or being a nobody? Big corporations are greedy by nature, always shutting down? Artist and animators are quitting, there’s barely hope for our to be realistic. One day, we are going to see that everything is replaced with ai, shutting our brains off, legitimately loosing IQ. Wow, out of all the videos I have watched on this topic, yours had some good real-talk comments that nobody wants to hear, but I agree with. Also the thing about Ai artists, I guarantee you once AI art becomes unprofitable or is no longer trendy they'll quit and move on to something else. But most of us artists, we'll keep drawing, we'll keep growing, we'll keep improving, because making art is a part of who we are and is not dependent on what is trendy or what society wants.
Thank you. It's reassuring that I can get to some people outside my own little space. I completely agree with you, now its just a matter of time.
Tbh I don't see why AI generated images would stop being profitable.
@@LangkeeLongkee I’m guessing when laws surrounding AI are put into place to protect those who are harmed by its use. Have you ever heard of videos of people saying things they actually never said or doing things they never did? I hope the law catches up soon because AI Gen stuff can be damaging to people and their reputations.
Ugh... the thing that bothers me with the form is it asking for personal info like full name. I am so glad i rarely post there anymore. I think i am gonna turn my profiles private. If it doesn't work, well i won't be posting there anymore anyways. I moved to tumblr. The default Opt-in is so freaking crappy. I thought there was a copyright thing that was said that when a picture gets posted, it automatically gets copyright protection. That is what allows people to do takedowns of it. This violates that on every level. Practically a major lawsuit waiting to happen if people do it. These dumb systems should be defaulted as opted out. Just because we post our work publically doesn't mean it's automatically free to take and use. Ask for freaking consent first.
Choosing to post your work on a social media site generally gives the company the legal right to do almost anything with it. It's a crappy deal, but the legal system isn't going to help us here. Luckily, for at least Instagram, all of those rights are taken away from Meta as soon as you remove the images from the platform. Making your profile private won't work. You have to fully delete the work or the account. That's the only way to keep your work safe, as frustrating as it is. I wish every artist on Insta had that info to make an informed choice one way or the other. Good luck.
Its also crappy they make deleting your account difficult too, the god damn system they use is on purpose, for a year and a half, I’ve been trying to figure out how to delete my current account (deleted every post btw), which I cant bc I forgot the password and its linked to a super decade old number, your doomed if you have this problem aswell, as they will ONLY contact that NUMBER specifically even if you no longer have access. They even say try contacting your old number in which I have to say, who will do that?? Its annoying and I’ve been trying to get people to mass report it bc its the only way!!! There is NO way Im giving them my email or anything else either, I could delete the app but they would still use the stories I posted to feed the ai. Yes, they dont use JUST posts but STORIES TOO. And believe me, due to how many people got super p!ssed at this, there definitely will be a lawsuits, it definitely happened before and it will happen again, I may not understand law stuff in general but if my nose is right, I smell lawsuits.
Either way, nothing can replace real art, ai art should not be called “art”, they should be called ai images, calling them art does not help. But like I said, nothing can replace art, so keep going and dont give in to these scum bags!!! Have a lovely day/night too btw ^^ have good soup
How am I not surprised… Instagram has always been so unfair and shitty to artists using their platform. I hardly post on there anymore because the algorithm is very annoying & when a drawing DOES take off I still feel like shit, because the like to comment ratio is terrible on there (from my experience anyway.) I’ve gotten more comments on a Pinterest post with 20 likes than an instagram post with 1k 😭
my videos get almost nothing on instagram, and when they get a couple hundred views, they have like 3 likes 😍😍
I'm gonna post random images of garbage and trash cans everyday on instagram, so that their ai will learn to draw itself
It isn't the ai that's bad, it's people using it. Ai on itself can be great if people consent to the art being used on it, but scraping everyone's hard work without consent is terrible.
I still can't beleive ai "artists" call them selves artists...💀💀💀
Bruhhh I had recently taken a break from social media like Instagram, and I had been looking forward to, and thinking of how I would return to posting my art again, but this is making it REALLY DIFFICULT. I dont wanna go back there if my stuff is just going to be stolen for ai. I'm glad I don't post every single thing I draw.
I've done the exact same thing. I might just invest in art with my local community at this point, irl.
SAMEEE
Its just.... so much work to keep doing this with every single website that has any of my art on it. Im just tired at this point, man. Feel like just deleting all my art from social media at this point, and only uploading glazed stuff from now on. Fuck meta, fuck ai, fuck the internet as a whole nowadays.
well, shit...
I abandoned my insta account half a decade ago. My art has improved since, they can have my scribbles for all I care. but still Screw you, Meta.
Same, while my insta has some of my best paintings, it's mostly spammed with old sketches and practice gesture :D I haven't posted in a long while
Just like DeviantArt all over again 💀
I AGREE! I stopped using deviantart when ai just came out of nowhere. I think it was 2 years old when I saw ai on my feed
@@RileyHighBerg they had the same thing as Instagram happen where they had an ai use deviantart artists' works, and it was opt ON for ALL artworks by default and you had to manually opt out of each artworks 💀 they had so much backlash that they had to change it to be opt OUT by default instead
Right had to delete two accounts on there, one of them pretty old. Disappointing. DA used to be the best place for place (even better than tumblr) and now..
Commenting for the boost. This is so horrifying, feels like such a breach of human rights.
Why dont we as a community law suit them like make a go fund me for collecting the money and then sue them as a collective
I would donate
YES
I like how meta is so creative in destroying itself
Im going to smash my own head in half, I've been trying to fill this form for 3 days but every time I try this on my phone, I have to enter a code from my emails to fully send the form but then I get an error message telling me my request has been "limited to prevent spam". So I tried your method and attempted using the form on PC but now I cannot find my country ??? EU countries aren't available on the list despite (supposedly) being the ones that can opt out more easily thanks to regulations ??? I'm losing my mind.
Bruh literally what is this
It’s so fucking infuriating like it shouldn’t be so complicated to protect our RIGHTS ☠️☠️☠️
@@amorfati8341 RIGHT and to think it's "just" a form on IG and our already uploaded works most likely have already been scraped... If the form keeps malfunctioning I'll most likely just wipe my account. It sucks because I booth at conventions and IG is the social media most clients want to follow.
Their privacy settings design is so unethical it’s ridiculous. It is impossible to navigate and breaks all the time. Every little bit of design you put on a platform like that is intentional. You cant tell me its an accident facebook opened 4 tabs of menus for me to just disable targeted advertising. This is insanity. Meta made it confusing by design.
If its that hard in EU, I'm cooked with my other friends
@@Pratt11 OKAY UPDATE yesterday night I FINALLY got a notification on the app with the Meta logo telling me "we're planning new functionalities with AI". Clicking it led me to a valid form this time, I was able to send it properly (no "this isn't available in your region" or glitch with the code) and this morning I received the email confirming I was opted out.
For people in the EU, maybe try updating your app and see if you receive the notif. For people outside of the EU, Meta might ask you to "send screenshots for proof" so try to grab a random AI image off Pinterest ?
As a learning artist, this just scares me, Is it even worth learning anything when the vets are being treated like this? Fuck man, I hate these corporate ghouls so much!!
No. people should be compensated for their art that was stolen. and the jobs they will no longer have.
You learn for yourself, not for social media. Continue to focus on learning art.
Thisnis gonna make artists stop posting now, great job meta.
When I found out about this. I legit said aloud. “Oh SHIT.” Because I knew it was NOT good. I built a platform on instagram. I built friendships there and posted my art online there. This is not okay. As an artist who posts there I do not consent to it being taken and used in Ai
Exactly, I also made a ton of friends on there and my account was recently taking off. This is actually ridiculous and incredibly worrying ☹️
@@breadandsprinkles300 I’m sorry that you’re in a similar place 😭😭😭 this sucks. Instagram is not okie doki rn.
this literally the REASON why i refuse to post anything on any media 😭the amount of consent to privacy has been thrown out the window and its nasty
Edit: I just commented this in the spur of a moment anyway- in general media has literally annoyed me sm :/ especially with the random drops of things i just dont wanna see but they appear anyway and the fact it takes up so much of my time. I can't say anything to the people who are actively on media, I'm not gonna judge, only thing I'd honestly do is be concerned abt the amount of hours spent. I honestly hope things calm down and not get as bad as it's looking at the moment... things won't stop changing, that much we all just have to understand no matter how its stressing us out tbh. only thing im just hoping for atp is that the media won't be as abusive as it currently is in the near, *near* future
Training AI is soooo hard, it needs to consume humongous amounts of data to even do something small so its very expensive. Not surprising they did this to avoid spending their own money to buy the art they needed
Yeah, they would've gotten way too many no's wouldn't they?
@@VoidStaresback definitely
What if we artists just stopped making art for cooperates like this? Why do they keep treating us like shit💀💀💀
I’ve completely stopped posting my art online and if I it’s all traditional art on a private fb account
instagrams one of the main platforms artists post, surprising they threw that away
Commenting so the algorithm picks this up, I guess
Tumblr did the exact same thing. They at least *claimed* that midjourney would cooperate if users opted out and remove their posts from the dataset, but given people have tried to get things removed from the datasets before that deal went through and were met with ridiculous pushback and had to *sue them* to get their work out, i'm not exactly willing to trust that claim.
I'm glad I never got on instagram, but this is showing up in other companies too.
meta goes from "we don't never take people's data and information" to ai coming out and now it's "oh we've always been doing this and its acceptable now"
"you are the product" why does everyone keep forgetting this
Exactly what I just remembered when hearing about all of this, "If the service is free, you are the product"
Might not be a bad idea to ditch social media entirely at this point at least not posting absolutely everything. Pretty sure in the TOS of most of those sites its written that posting images gives them the rights to your work at least in some capacity. I haven't really used it that much and I'll probably opt to host my own site instead. Too bad social media has become the main way to reach people but the landscape could always change one way or another.
Instagram has always been shitty towards artist when they remove the feature to look at recent post. I'm not surprised they pull a stunt like this.
Honestly, even if you opt out, they're still most likely going to take all the info. The media they're going to train the ai with probably spreads across the entire website and even if you click a physical button to stop it, they'll do the scummy thing of not caring. They'll also be continuously training it, so newer content will continue to be fed to the program ):
thanks for this. it's very unsettling how far they go to make this inconvenient to opt out of. plus I never would have known without your video, so clearly they're not trying to make it well known if they can help it.
Thanks for letting people know about the options labyrinth.
I hate this with every fiber of my being
Absolutely no. This should not be legal
they probably hide this crap in their long TOS that's probably legally binding. there should be laws against it i agree
Legally they can't do this to be honest, it's by law to always require an opt out if they do not provide one soon they will face legal charges by not only larger creators but also bigger companies who uses their platform.
They will get sued if they do not follow the system, so if they do not provide an opt out you can actually report them legally for not providing an choice, because they can't legally use your data and profit off of it without providing an choice of consent, and if they don't follow those lines well let's say it won't end good on their end.
And if anyone is wondering it isn't just the U.S this goes for every country tbh though the law will be different in every country, they still can't legally profit off of you in any way shape or form without an legal sign of consent.
P.s: A lot of minors that are 13-16 uses their platform whatever it is for personal reasons or creative reasons, therefore they can actually face extreme charges by profiting off an minor under 18. In which you can report it to the FTC/Coopa and they will take legal matters into their own hands if they find out, just thought i add that in there as well.
Commenting to help with the algorithm. Apparently longer comments are better so I'm gonna share a fun fact.
A shrimp's heart is located on its head. But if we will base it on the exact anatomy of a shrimp, its heart is located on its thorax just after the head, but both the head and the thorax are covered with a single exoskeleton only, that is why the shrimp's thorax can be mistaken as still part of the shrimps head.
love shrimps, hate ai "art"
boosting!!
it's so unethical and predatory. unless you're in the eu they reject your opt-out requests.
Imagine CZcams training their AI on making videos with help from your videos in a few years too. The day will come.
Can’t say I didn’t see this coming, we’re doomed..
This is absolutely vile and honestly not at all suprising with all of the platforms cashing in on this same thing, (DeviantArt and such) :( thank you for bringing this to people's attention! I had absolutely no idea before i saw this video. Going to go tell my friends
As if Instagram wasn't already cooked for artists...
Yesterday my submission got declined. I was raging in my mind about that. But now, after I calmed down, I want to try requesting opt out again. But this overall thing doesn’t seem legal. Giving our information to AI without our permission is literally same thing as theft
Thanks for sharing. I hate how companies are getting away with this
Thank you so much for this information this popped up on my reel yesterday and I was trying figure out. I got lost. Ai stuff ruining people’s life especially in art filed 😔
Of course❤
I have no words. I’ve always hated Instagram but this is beyond a new low. Thank you for covering this.
Thank you so much for this. I refuse to let my art be stolen by a soulless machine.
im mad as hell. i studied art for 3 years now, and i post my paintings, most of which take me 3 hours long, on instagram. they just stealing my shit and it makes me fucking angry. im quitting instagram right now.
I love the idea of using ai to write the removal request
I sent a request to opt out, but they quite literally just rejected it, so I'm at a loss.
I tried to fill out the form and when I tried to find proof it used my posts to train the ai (I’ve had my account since 2012 so it definitely did), I couldn’t get any responses that solidly proved it. They all had some things correct, but enough things incorrect that I don’t think it could count. So now I guess I just have to wait and keep checking every now and then for when it becomes more accurate and definitely _has_ used a huge amount of my art to train their ai :)
Please let this be blessed by the algorithm
Gods, I uninstalled the app ages ago, now I gotta go back just so they don’t steal all of my old art.
If you don't use the app anymore, I would recommend just deleting you account and all your data. This opt out thing is egregiously annoying.
Jesus christ it never ends with this AI slop. Its genuinely painfully dreadful, f*ck privacy and respect and resorting to anything other than using AI apparently. that sht is straight up not as reliable as people think it is. Instagram is already a nasty site i dont wanna put my art on but this solidifies it for me i am not touching that site with even the most sturdy and reliable hazmat suit
Hi hello im genuinly so ipissed i was worried thhis was what their ”new ai” shit meant. So glad i pretty muchimmedeatly just opted out just to be safe and went ”hey dont use my art for ai thats actual theft and i dont want that. Dont want my art to be used for that” or whatever. Hopefully they dont doit ANYWAY
i told them in the notes to off themselves😂

@@cryingwatercolours8127 LMFAOO UR A MENACE I LOVE THAT
Whaaaaaat?! I gave up DeviantArt and now this?!
Guys is there even hope in this world anymore
I feel like the one thing I can hold on to right now is knowing that at least the majority of people seem to not like this
@@meatballsyrup2747 You’re correct that there’s hope in the fact that most people don’t like this at all! Plus, despite AI being so “advanced,” I personally rarely see it being used outside of memes and very niche spaces, though that’s just my experience.
Regardless, I believe that even in the worst case scenario, there will always be some appreciation for genuine, human-made art.
I've been drawing for my entire life, and been posting on Instagram for 7 years. within those 7 years I was never really the lucky one with algorithm, and im still struggling to find my target audience. when I found out all my old posts were going to be fed to AI I felt so. so devastated. All the experience, practice, comics, illustrations that I made is all being sold to some rich fckwads that don't wanna pick up a pencil or spend their money.
but to that, I'll just keep making art that I love after I've "opted out".
I will NOT quit.
boosting!! the inernet isn’t fun anymore. More and more companies have no care for peoples privacy, and treat our data like it’s free real estate. They shouldn’t be collecting more than what’s strictly necessary, if anything at all. the idea of personal data being a market to begin with is so messed up!💀 I wish i could sign up and enjoy platforms without having to agree they get to do what they want with my personal info. I’m so tired man, genuinely considering leaving the internet for good.
Thank you for talking about this, I genuinely had no idea this was happening. This feels so wrong, they do not care about us and never have. Hoping all the comments and love this’ll get will make it hit the algorithm!
I think it’s so crappy that you have to opt out to begin with and it wasn’t like that in the beginning. Also, a whole written section on “why” you want to?? That’s literally so stupid! Idk why ppl have to explain WHY they would want to opt out. So awful.
Thanks for talking about this, as AI tools continue to be accepted by big companies.
Especially with how they keep doubling down on their already invasive business practices.
deviantart did the same fricking thing! They released their stupid AI generator and happily announced that all DA users are automatically OPTED IN for letting the AI use their artworks!!! After many users got mad, DA changed it that all users are utomatically opted OUT, but too late, since the opted in option was already on before so AI already got all the information anyway...
AI is good for fun and messing around, also for inspiration of what to draw, like poses, landscape ideas etc, but using the AI generated image and call it ART? No thank you...
it’s insanely dystopian
I always had a theory that Big social media companies such as meta that created photo-based apps did it with the foresight that they could use the data on it as training data for artificial intelligence. Whether or not this is only something they realised the significance the hordes of data they are sitting on now or if it is something they planned, I can take comfort somewhat in the fact that I kind of saw it coming.
Thank you kindly. I’ve been trying to find more information on this since I’ve seen a jump of artists going to Cara. I’m already on CZcams so I’m contemplating just deleting everything if the opt out request is not available or denied. This is utter BS and a violation. It’s like having an exhibit at a gallery who makes money by people coming to see our work, then finding out the gallery owner copied everyone’s images and has been selling them as their own in other markets.
