The kit only comes with an Apple lightning to 3.5mm cable for your mic, If your using android you will need to buy a (depending on the age of your phone) a usb-c to 3.5mm adaptor, just an little extra to pay out:(

How do I get the mic to work with my iPhone 12 pro?
Just out of curiosity does anyone know if the mic needs an extra cable for Samsung phones, obviously the iPhone connector will not work for my S10 and I wondered if I'd need to buy a third party connector.

I have had mine 5 months now and three of the socket joints have got cracks in now ,so it's all loose and pretty much useless ....... I expected a lot more for such a high profile device...... sorry Joby I expect a lot more ,
And to add insult to injury ,I can't find how to return it ,to Amazon where I purchased it from ......not good at all

Yes, you can just buy the 3K kit and attach the phone mount on top.

Was really looking forward to this but ... the microphone does not work. Plugged it in, using the “dongle” ...nothin’. iPhone 8 and iPad Pro.
Ann Reed you might have used the trs cable.try the other cable just in case
The phone cable is the one with the three stripes and then you should use the dongle

The legs are from the 1K kit, which is made out of ABS plastic and rubber grip

Is this just for iPhone? The dongle looks like it is just for iPhone. Can you buy all the kit bits separately and get the dongles?
MsPenut01 the dongle is for an iPhone because the new ones don’t have a head phone jack but any phone can work with it as long as it has a headphone jack or if you have an iPhone
Some phones might need a usb c dongle which you'll need.
