The crowd spontaneously chanting, "This is awkward," instead of, "this is awesome," was pretty much they highlight of my day, and a perfect example of why I love the Raw after 'mania. :D
I mean the fans talking to Simon are more awkward than the segment.
They weren't wrong.
I think what made it awkward was Cody slowly saying “You can hold mine if I can hold yooouuurs….”

A 45 minute segment between Rock and Cody with about 35 minutes of it dramatic silences.
& it was fantastic

@@nabeelahmed2786rocky was playing into it too much. He was doing what Dom does where if they boo, he stops talking which prompts them to boo more, and more stopping.
Sometimes you just need to plow through the booing, someone like the rock commands attention. They’ll listen when he talks.

The patience Simon has with the crowd is top tier. I think others would have snapped with the incessant pick mes in the crowd. I like how pretzel guy got cut out right when they knew he wasn't going to stop talking. While I like the banter between Simon and the crowd and him joking around with them it's a bit annoying when they talk over him and make him lose his train of thought.
Absolutely agree. Everyone just wants to use Simon for their 15 seconds instead of just enjoying being a part of something organic.

Hell of a weekend for Simon and the entire crew. Hope you guys get a day of rest after all this. Simon looks tired here. I could be wrong but props to him here.
I didn't think the belt swap segment was awkward.
It was symbolic. Rock was playing TOTAL HEEL! We all saw him pin Cody. So in his eyes, he sees himself as Champion. Him handing Cody The Peoples championship, was symbolic of the "Pivot" turn for Wrestlemania.
It leaves a great story for both of them to revist at any time in future.
I thought it was great cinema and great story telling. The Rock even stamped it by saying, "This feels right."
I thought Simon was going to give it a Golden Up. 😂😂😂

Most wrestling fans are a nerds (including myself) but damn this crowd was beyond nerdy
What a wild RAW After Mania, while not perfect this is one of the best ones in a long time. Cody got his flowers, and Samantha got hers. The Rock got Roman-level heat after he beat the Undertaker. We also set up and teased the future match of Cody/Rock even if it did get a bit awkward, in a crazy 45min segment. We got to see a great showcase from Ilja and Roxanne Perez, both Main Roster ready. R-Truth continues to be a national treasure and got to live his boyhood dream teaming with John Cena. He also continues his record of at least 1 match every year. Also a 15- Knuckle Shuffle. We see Liv wants revenge on Rhea. A Sheamus vignette as he will return soon. We continue to tease the Gable heel turn on Sami. Plus a hell of a Fatal Four-way as Drew continues to become more and more unhinged thanks to Punk. We also have Priest's first challenger in Jey Uso.
Bigger mystery than what the Rock gave Cody is what Simon whispered in the ear of Irish Taker 😭

The Undertake gets a GOLDEN UP
Didn’t love it. No huge debuts. No big returns. Judgement Day having both major titles but still doing comedy with Miz/Truth. Thrown together fatal 4 way main event with a screwy finish.
Thought it was disappointing.
What the rock gave Cody? A lighter. Rumors of Cody's trailer caught fire a few days prior to mania. It's small, Cody would know what it is without seeing it and it would warrant the reaction Cody had to it. So yeah I think it's a lighter.
I'm going one of the beads from Roman's ula fala, Rock seemed heartbroken to give it to Cody and since Cody won Bloodline rules.
I was thinking a matchbook...same idea.

Not dumping on anything but 6 matches on a 3 hour show, first hour commercial free. Also Jade on raw when they made a huge deal about her going to smackdown just weeks ago, what was the point?
Because they know the raw after mania will have the most eyes on the show. So anyone who wasn't able to catch wm40 they can catch raw. Plus it's not like she wasn't already there.

Because it was the the only show she was on consistently. Bron breaker signed his and we just had to wait for like 3weeks or more to get the actual announcement that jade has signed to smackdown. wwe didn't even try to make it seem like she was thinking abt signing to raw. But they said the wwe draft is coming back so who knows. Because if u think abt it only champions that wasnt on the raw after mania was the smackdown tag team champions Logan Paul and Bayley with her wwe women's title. U had both the wwe world heavyweight championship and the wwe undisputed universal championship the raw tag champs the i.c champ the woman's world title and even the NXT champions and NXT woman's champions.

The Rock's promo was boring and he was stating the obvious again and again. For me, Rock's part of the opening segment is a down.
That's been his entire return run.
Hopefully he doesn't come back so the casuals can go away and we can get some damn wrestling on WWE TV.

This is a bit of a deep cut, but seeing this makes me think of Danny Don't You Know by NSP, a (fairly funny) song about finding your place and feeling like you belong while growing up. It's awesome to see someone so positive find their tribe and see them truly appreciated.

Simon handled the crowd really well, you would never guess he was irritated at some of them even though he probably was. And to their credit, most of the crowd showed some restraint.
The rock lied. He did two hold this championship. He was the one who unveiled the championship, after winning the spinner championship off John Cena.
That was the new WWE title, this was an undisputed championship. Both the blue and his one got merged so technically it’s both titles merged into one so he never held it officially.
Guy with the title behind Simon was eye-flubbing the camera for 90% of the video.

Dusty (in kayfabe) not knowing that you couldn't win the title via DQ/CO was always hilarious to me. Him celebrating the count out with the title just made him look like an idiot who had forgotten the rules; and then years later (ironically) that exact kind of finish becomes his go-to when booking himself to where it is named after him. AND THEN, decades after THAT, his youngest son's "story" avenges his father's own finish being used against him 45 years earlier...
I swear the day we see Simon Miller debut in WWE the pop will be deafening.
