This is a flip through of my completed challenge journal for January 2024. I used Dear Julie Julie digital kits; Woodland Hummingbirds, Grungy Lace and Antique Book Endpages. These are available in Julie’s Etsy Store.
Thank you to all the master crafters that have shared their ideas over the years on CZcams. You inspire me so much to turn discarded items into useful pieces of art.
Sandy you made an absolutely gorgeous journal. I'm amazed it's all junk!!! I love everything you've done here. And you finished EARLY!! You're my hero.
Envelope, envelope, does anyone have an envelope? Are you kidding? Big Momma just came bye and they all disappeared.

Big Momma I absolutely love this! Top notch creativity.
Judy no hummers were harmed in the making of this video. But the English language is a totally different story.
another hit!!! seeing all the elements come together in a journal is always a treat for me. LOVE the "rusty paper clip" safety pin! 🤣..... love you mostest!!
Well I had to secure it somehow and a pin clip rusty thingy was the perfect solution 😂😂😂

Oh my gosh!!! I love your JJ !!!
Krissi, thank you. I actually wasn’t going to make a video this time.
Another fabulous creation, Big Momma!!!! ❤ Your creativity never ceases to amaze me!!!
Truly don’t know if there is anymore room in my brain for all the amazing ideas CZcams puts in there. I’m so happy to share them with you.
Love it Sandy! Well done!
Kathleen I really missed working along side you. It has been such great fun being spurred along.
Pretty journal!!! TFS!
I’m learning that challenges help me think outside the box. I hate the deadlines, but they help me to actually finish a project. Guess, even in retirement I have a boss. “Yes, Julie, I’m hurrying.” 😂
As always, wonderful, inspiring Journal! Thank you for sharing and inspiring me
You are always so gracious with your compliments. Thank you. I’m so happy something I made has inspired you. 😘
A very lovely journal; thanks for sharing it with us.
Becky I was over the moon when I saw that you subbed to my channel. Thank you sir much.
I don’t know how you were able to complete this fabulous journal in such a short amount of time- love it! ❤
It needs so much more to rise up to the Lori Beth awards. But since it’s a challenge journal I just never slept and ate at my work table. Exercise was coffee to restroom breaks.
This is a fantastic journal!! I knew that you were going to do this by deadline!! 🩷
Paula, I just couldn’t let ya down. 😃
I love the ruffled edge made from tea bag.
I am so amazed at how resilient tea bags are.
You are just amazing I so wanna be you when I grow up❤
I thought of you when I did the cover
Lovely crinkly sounds of the paper ✂️📘☀️
Thank you. Honestly, if I had any clue how to edit, I might have edited it out. Many people are sensitive to the yummy noise of delicious paper.
@@bigmommasandymoore2531 It wasn’t loud, just nice! 🌻
@@dawnyWestScotland thank you, and thank you for making such beautiful videos of your country. I felt like I was there, watching.
Sandy! This Journal is beautiful!! You are so adorable! It came out so pretty, I love it. XO Trudy
Trudy🥰 it’s so wonderful you dropped bye. I thrilled you like my work. I really enjoyed making this one. But then again, I like making them all.
Gorgeous. I love it!😊❤
Did you notice any gold splatters?😂😉
Another lovely journal. I always love how you explain your techniques. I love you friend.
You made my day. That someone understands my explanations is simply incredible. Thank you so much Miss Penny for always supporting me in my crafts.
That's an interesting technique you used on the cover. Thanks for sharing it.
Thank you, Andrea. We can play when you are here.
lol BonBon you got called out nanaanaaaaboooboo 😂
😂
Wonderful
Sheila thank you. I am always so honored you are able to stop in to watch. I know how busy you are during the school year.
Oh I have a big pile of the large envelopes but they are yellow ones. I haven't yet worked out how to deal with them. Somehow I think I will have to embrace the colour and make that the theme. Maybe sunflowers? Another wonderful journal Big Momma. Thanks for telling us its story. 😀❤
Margaret I know that it will be beautiful with your yellow envelopes. And if you dye the envelopes in yellow onion skins with tea, the amber color will make the envelopes so warm and inviting. Oh how I rejoice at the thought of your beautiful sunflower experiment. It will warm the recipient’s heart.
Ah yes, onion skins, tea will make them amber. Much better colour. Now I can see a way forward for this project. Thank you so much Sandy. xoxo@@bigmommasandymoore2531
Hiya friend!!! I’m paying attention to you today!😅
I’ll be the sunshine for you today🤪
Could you make a video for the technique you used for the cover? This is fabulous!
Tomi, I’m not tech savvy. Speeding up the video and editing is beyond my skill level. I can tell you I glued the napkin, sprayed on distress ink, added gold splatters and then put clear shoe polish on the top. Then I started heating the top with my heat gun. The wax melted into the book cloth creating a glass top effect to it. The napkin ghosted up to the top.
I love it, once again. Is the wax you use, the old yellow pot of wax that you rub your cloth in and poilsh your funiture?
I used the Kiwi neutral shoe polish. In the army I would polish my boots and heat the polish with a lighter. Then buff to a glassy shine. So using this idea, I put the polish on the finished cover and ran the heat gun over it. Then I buffed with a soft towel. I think I could hear the company calling cadence in the background.
@@bigmommasandymoore2531 Thanks
What kind of wax are you talking about???
I show the kiwi neutral shoe wax about mid video.
I need to go get some!! Who knew!! You did. Did you see that in a video or are you just a smarty pants?!?!?
@@FromRVtoCrafts this time I came with information. But I’m sure others have used shoe wax also.
