A couple of months ago, I was playing 10 card jacks or better. I flopped a flush. Four to the royal. I threw my flush away and kept 4 to the royal and got one of them. Was that the correct play?

Yes it was! Strategy in 10 play is the same as regular Jacks Or Better, and holding four to a royal beats a dealt flush.
