It has been designed only to put in awe wealthy tourists and competing countries, otherwise, from a city planning standpoint, it is a terribly laid out city, that does not inspire any sense of community, but that doesn't matter anyway because Dubai isn't supposed to be a functioning society, but rather a playground for the rich. Don't be fooled by it's large towers or glistening lights, it is only a facade for a much uglier side of modern society.

I am so fortunate to have visited the Burj Kalifa in 2010 before its opening. I travelled to the observation deck and looked down at the world below me. It was an amazing experience for me and something that I would never forget. The talent, experience, and the gift of mankind is far reaching. Dubai is still one of my favorite places and Burj Dubai will remain the tallest building and remain in history, as I see it. The video was well presented.

Mr. Adrian Smith really outdid himself when designing the Burj Khalifa. While it being very tall and modern, I am still impressed by the fact that they managed to add so many living and interactive environments while not ruining the shape

It looks to be an impressive and successful development as a whole. My congratulations to the developers who thought of it that way and who offered residences instead of just commercial space in Khalifa. One can see why new business models are needed for such buildings comparing it to old standards like the Empire State in NYC. The tip of Khalifa is near twice as tall as Empire but the later has 2/3rds the floor space while costing 1/3rd in 2019 dollars. That said, the rest of the development would certainly be worth much less without the Khalifa. I think that is where the project stands out...as a complete concept.

Mr. Kavin, today and now, Burj khalifa is the tallest 826 meter, coming in Malaysia there is a building call the merdeka PNB 118, floor tower of 644 meter, the Jeddah tower is 1,010.meter, together with the Arzerbaijan tower with the height of 1,050 meter high. Let's try to check it.

Great construction. I visited on 2019 and I was impressed. I went up and felt that i can touch the sky and clouds. Beautiful place and great country. I had a great time in the UAE. Probably will return this year, 2021

.. even the most simplest job can get you to go there in economy ticket, take a taxi there from the airport to the mall, get a ticket where theres a place in the mall called, "to the top burj khalifa" just buy a ticket from there, which is not very expensive but will cost you a little, and if you show them your ticket, they will guide you through a walkway until your at the top, and then now you will be in the observation deck all the way in clouds and you will feel it... breathtaking. I went there and did this and I'm not rich nor in a rich family. Yes it will cost quite a bit and you need to be at least employed with an ok job and a good salary which is easy if you have qualifications but you dont need to be rich and full of yourself with a business to do this.. no you don't! Anyway if you get to do this, Enjoy!

To everyone talking about the absence of a sewage system, I'd like to add that due to the buildings great height, some engineering challenges must've been there when trying to add in a sewage system. I believe it's not as easy as just *adding a sewage system* when you're working with such a great height.
The building has a sewage syestem but the city of Dubai’s sewers can’t handle the load from the newer developments. The city should be able to build one because in Dubai you can get away with what’s basically slave labor

@Yashua Fradkin the used water will get into a septic tank which then be transported into a water purifying system which clears all the trash, and make it able to drink,better quality than most of us can afford

I think the building is stunning. And this is one time I think the spire really adds to the look of the building. I wish this building was in NYC in place of the freedom tower which I think it very lackluster when compared to buildings like this or the Jeddah tower.

The tallest building in all civilization is the Tower of Babel. Which was 8,150 feet tall. Almost three times the size of the Burj Khalifa.
There’s no such evidence that it ever existed. There’s no way they would’ve been able to crate a structure that large anyways

i went here about 10 times bczwe live in fujariah so we arrive in 2 hour-2.5 hour and we went for birthdays vacction it was fun!
Very well builder and nice design. I'm scared too high, when what happens from the weather or something else, whose lives in the highest level it hard for them to escape from the highest level, think of the tween tower in New York city what happens in 09/11, if I have money I will never buy a room in that highest.
