Apparently some Orks end up worshiping Nurgel entirely because he's big and green. Its not common, but it does happen

@@donnikthejedi2222the main issue with khorne orkz seems to be that Gork and Mork don't even register Khorne as any kind of threat in the warp.
Khorne orkz would have to come from a forceful physical conversion, get enough bloodletters to dog pile on a warboss and vomit daemon blood on him until he's forced to witness the majesty of Khorne on his throne

Interesting, makes me think this must had been planned early one so who knows if the Orks were already infected when they attacked or if there was a sneaky cult of Nurgle in one of the cities they sacked infecting them. Nurgle very much likes to play the long game with plans and I wouldn’t be shocked if he nicked some tricks from Tzeentch (for anyone who’s seen that episode of hammer and bolter you know what I mean)

orks are normally sensitive about whose an ork and whose not and all are adamant about ork kulture, so it seems strange that these orks let this nurgle infection fester rather than stamping out the first few orks who had corruption
its partly why genestealers cannot infect orks
For all we know a small raid party could have been infested during a travel through the warp

Aren't genestealers just worshippers though? Bit easier to infect Orks than it would be to convert them into a cult so it makes sense.
@Iblisellis genestealers could infect orks but trying to convert them is difficult bc
1. Ork biology is very weird compared to genestealer biology so it's hard for then to hijack
2. Orks can instinctively sense that an infected ork is different from a normal ork somehow
3. Orks rly do like to be orky and follow ork Kulture and major part of it is their belief in gork and Mork. Am ork that starts spouting about how they are infinitely hungry or have multiple arms is at the very least getting ostracized if not beaten to death
@@Hyde-dg7ef orks can vary quite considerably. For example theres orks that use actual tactics to a point and will mercenary themselves out to the imperium. When you have as many orks as grains of sand on a desert world you get some that are just weird even by ork standards. You could also guess maybe some orks looked at a world nurgle already owned and decided that looks like a good fite and the spores their remains left were corrupted or somehow influenced.
When Mortarion personally shows up on a world, you know that world is doomed.

Orks is the only faction (Other than Chaos/daemons) that can get through the warp with virtually no protection other than their innate waagh energy.
The fact those got tainted in any way is rather peculiar.
The orks can instinctively sense that another ork is "weird" and the "weird boyz" or the Boss would instinctively "have a solution"... one that could be completely silly but thanks to their waagh energy... with enough Orks believing in the fix... Chaos would just have to fold.
Chaos is a reflection of minds made manifest in the materium ... but the Ork's gimmick is also just that in a way... but better... because they collectively control that power and are somewhat free of the whims of a (or many) chaos gods.
Historically in 40k, that's why Chaos always had a hard time against them.
For the Orks to get tainted like that... you would need to convince their biggest ones that "this is normal" and then have the whole group purge the "non-weird".
Needless to say, that's not what we usually see happen at all...
The next biggest Nobz would simply smash the Infected git and take his place on the spot.
As the commenter above me posted, its all very strange for an Ork clan to become infected. Its sort of why I like 40k as a whole but hate a lot of its parts as writers will write their favorite faction into some extreme plot Armour setup while also ignoring previous held truths to do so. If GW cleaned up these inconsistencies in writing 40k could potentially blossom more than it already has but because of them constantly mismanaging their own IP their "failed" fantasy branch has come back even strong in a lot of ways. Tabletop wise 40k still wins, for now.
When I play Plague Inc., the first step is to make sure your disease has very few symptoms so it spreads un-noticed. I expect Mortarion might have been able to utilize a pathogen with a long incubation period.
Nurgle was just mad that Gork and Mork slapped him around. He can't handle a good KruMpiN!

@@SandmanofTerra Well it's gonna take a long time since I make models at a truly glacial pace, but I do have plans to make a Supa-Kannon that has a 3 barreled cannon that has a store for nurglings and rockets to be shot out after my mek guz
I think there was a short mention of orks being corrupted by Nurgle in one of the Grey Knights codexes. Normally orks don't get corrupted, because their simple, instinctual faith in Gork and Mork protects them. But in this case, they found an ancient mural of Nurgle and mistook it for an image of Gork, so the orks started worshipping it and became corrupted by Nurgle without realizing it until it was too late.

i dont think they're immune as much as theyve just got a lot of reasons as to why it pretty much never happens, from an innate resistance, to the killing of "unorky orks", and to gork and mork going into the chaos realm and curb stomping them when they overstep

One of the only RARE times that Orks were infected by Chaos (because Gork and Mork protect). The only other thing I can think of is Tuska Daemon Killa, who only half fell, and he is LITERALLY trapped in Khorne's Realm in the Eye of Terror.

Just imagine the Adaptus Sororitas are fighting the Orks defending their world completely baffled by the behavior of the Orks and then when most of the Orks have been killed Mortarion just decants from the heavens like a fallen angel dressed in black like the Grimreaper himself, he raises his fist and casts some sort of spell and all the Ork corpes blow up withe millions of Nurgels grandchildren crawling forth charging at the Sororitas while they laugh and scream "blessed be lord Mortarion, thank the Grandfather" while the 7th Plague Company is charging right behind them pushing the Nuglings on

Sisters were really in over theirs heads in this situation. They should've investigated further and called in help from marine chapters before it was too late.
I understand that it was their planet and their duty to protect, but it's also the duty of the space marines to fight the traitor legions.

I mean nothing different than what they did to the others. Even when Nurgle gives you the "blessing" of birthing (anyone can have this lol) spawnlings out of your stomach you aren't going to feel it.
I've always wanted more chaos orks. Khorne is not that different from Gork and Mork, but the other three + Vashtorr could certainly sway some orks from time to time.

The psychic field they generate as a collective protects them but only if they are actively thinking they are immune. If they aren't thinking about it the psychic field does nothing.

They needed to call the other orks immediately. As the Boyz do not things like that one, they do not like it at all. The world would still fall, but there would be a huge target painted on the all nurgle forces i the galaxy for that.
