Club-record signing Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien was joined by defender Asier Del Horno and winger Shaun Wright-Phillips in the Chelsea squad and Mourinho's side started where they left off in 2004/05 by winning their first nine Premier League matches, including a 4-1 victory over 2005 UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool. - Sport

Chelsea had one of the best first half of the season I’ve ever seen a machine but did drop off in second half of the season and Manchester United and Liverpool weren’t that far behind
That was until man city Epic 17 18 first half of the season where they won 19 out of there first 20 games. But chelsea start to the 05 06 season back then, never seen anything like that.
