PM Luxon on why Māori Health Authority scrapping is so urgent | TVNZ Breakfast

  • The Māori Health Authority is headed for the scrap heap just two days before a Waitangi Tribunal hearing into the matter, a move described as a "power play" that shows a lack of respect for the judiciary by Lady Tureiti Moxon, one of the claimants.
    Once the plan is tabled in parliament, a tribunal hearing cannot proceed until the legislation comes into effect.
    Prime Minister Christopher Luxon told Breakfast about how he wants to work with iwi and health organisations on the ground to deliver better health services to Māori instead of building more bureaucracy.
