yup, all that remains, killswitch engage, and shadows fall (to a lesser extent) are the 3 bands that really shaped what metalcore would become, specifically the fall of ideals, alive or just breathing/the end of heartache
and theyre all from Massachusetts iirc
adam d also produced this album, and phil did some guest vocals for killswitch

@@AeonAxisProductions Adam D from Killswitch, produced this ATR album and most great metalcore albums from that time. Adam D is the father of Metalcore.
Its just a single stroke 16th note pattern. Youve got guys that can heel toe like crazy and get 32nd nite rolls and runs. But its mostly single strokes on the feet. The quick blips youll hear are tripplets or quads. As I drummer i wish i had feet like this again.

One of my favorite bands, really sad that the guitarist passed away, especially under not so certain circumstances, or at least since I last heard.

What you are hearing is the bass or "kick" drum being play with both feet really quickly using a Double kick peddle (one for each foot). The effect is achieved by going right, left, right, left, right, left, and have the drum itself mic'd up well. When the drummer goes full out with this technic, this is know is the Metal community as "mechine gun(ing)" double kick.

The quick machine gun like sounds are double bass pedals being expertly used. If you're talking about the really fast beats that include the snare, they're called blast beats.

Omg yes! One of my absolute favorite albums by one of my favorite bands. All that remains was the very first metal/metal core band I ever listened to and owe just about all my music taste to them
The drum thing is called a “triplet” and it’s played with the bass drum with the double beaters in this case.
I think youtube needs a video of DGibby trying to scream, I love this channel, keep making reactions for the metal community, out of all the channel that I watch who react to metal, this one is my favorite

Drum rolls can be this fast, but they're on the snare drum. What you're hearing from the band is called syncopated 16th notes between the drummer, bassist and guitarists.

One of my favorite songs by them. “Criticism and Self- realization” off of their “The order of Things” album. I just love the way the keys start you off slow, only to drop you on your face mere seconds later, cleaning it up, and doing it all over again.

That's solid syncopation. Just 32nd notes in little bursts. Also he (and the band) does em in patterns of 2 then 3 then 2 then 3... its pretty awesome! "This Calling" is a pretty dope song too

I've seen Killswitch Engage a bunch of times being their my favorite band, but one concert in particular at The Palladium in Dallas TX when Howard was still the lead singer. Phil Labonte filled in for howard because howard's back was acting up. It was a pretty cool experience for a one time gig. I even bought a shirt that said Philswitch Engage to remember the occasion.
