Once the bamboo is cut, diligent mowing of new shoots will starve the roots if sunlight and prevent photosynthesis. But it will take a couple of years

Gonna be using mini skidsteer, mini excavator and a 4ft bushhog attached to an old kubota L175

I applaud the effort, that was a lot of bamboo. It didn’t look like you guys excavated the roots though. That stuff is gonna come back.

He has a plan for that he just wanted us to maintain them and cut them down so he can keep them low until they eventually die.

Bamboo removal is so challenging. I understand the client just wanting it cut down rather than having it dug up, as that can be quite costly. It’s really hard to get rid of bamboo. I hope for the client’s sake that it doesn’t come back. It’s such a nightmare to deal with. Keep at it!

It’s the worst. I used a skid steer mostly to drag away the debris and to excavate afterwards. Still used loppers and chainsaws to fell the bamboo. Pro tip: prune right next to the nodes (rings). That’ll give you the easiest cut.

He has a plan for how he was going to kill them because he didn’t want to go that route because of the cost.
