On Kremlin State TV they are telling the Russian people to prepare for decades of war against Europe and the United States. Speaker Mike Johnson is promising some kind of vote on aid to Ukraine after Congress's Easter Recess.

I'm a US citizen and I've lost friends while almost coming to blows with others over my support for Ukraine.
I'm from Spain and same, in my opinion this is a black and white conflict, there is no grey area here. There is a clear agressor and there is a defender. I don't understand how anybody can even attempt to defend the actions of Russia, it doesn't seem like there is any logical argument to stand on to defend what they are doing.

Jake, at the start of Ukraine's suffering I remember a street interview in USA where random people were asked if money and aid should be sent to Ukraine, most people knew very little of what was happening there and thought it best to use the money in the USA. People now know a lot more. They know about child theft, rape, torture, murder, yet they are still reluctant to do or even think about it. This makes all of us just as complicit in these atrocities as Russians, Belarusians, Iranians, and North Koreans. As helpless as THEM? and we are free? No wonder they see us as irrelevant. Morality and obligation are words from the past none of our politicians want to talk about.

No, we are not complicit. I, for example, knew plenty about Ukraine before the start of the most recent war and I have supported Ukraine financially to the best of my ability. The problem is not the people of Belarus, who sabotaged railroads when Russia used them to attack Ukraine, but the dictator Lukashenko. Iran is run by repressive religious fanatics, while the DPRK is governed by the quasi-religious Juche nationalist cult of personality. Both of the latter are sanctioned by the free world. The US has no dictator (yet), and is not sanctioned by the world, but it does have some people who are motivated by grievance, hatred, religion, ignorance and greed.

The USA has given over 43 billion euro in aid( over half of all aid) The highest European aid is Germany at 16 billion. Why should the US tax payer care more for Ukraine then Europeans?

Your question is a valid one. The stats and the conclusion you are drawing are completely wrong though. It is falling in line I often hear from Americans that Europeans are doing "little" comparatively to the USA to aid Ukraine.
I feel compelled to correct this false narrative so let me set the record straight once again:
The USA has so far provided aid totaling € 75.4B. Germany provided € 45B. Given the difference in the size of the economy, a German is paying over double what the American is paying on a per capita basis. So your claim that Germans are contributing less is wrong.
Secondly, your claim that the US is providing half of all aid is also wrong. Everything considered the US provided 27% of all aid, the EU provided 56% of the total pie of € 253B.

Canadian here - I do not know whether financial support being sent to Ukraine from its allies is being used to purchase American weapons, but that may be a way to ease the load on American taxpayers.

I didn't know I had epilepsy though. I think it was because I asked too many questions. My favorite word is 'why'. I got the highest verbal and written score the recruiter had ever seen, but I don't think he liked it. Funny, the Special Forces LIKE bright people. You pretty much have to in order past their training.

A lot of people pay pretty much no attention to politics. They vote on the basis of "oh, there's that fellow off TV". Only some Republicans - like Gaetz, Greene, and Johnson - have been actively working to betray Ukraine like this. BUT, I’m also blaming the bulk of other Republicans who are ‘enabling’ the smallish Johnson cabal to stay in power. I live in Florida and my representative is Mario Diaz-Balart. He’s not part of Johnson’s group, but I still blame him for his part in allowing this pro-Putin travesty to continue in our Congress. I voted twice for Trump in the past. But NO MORE. The positive effect is that the EU and other countries become independent from the US and focus on their own weapons industry and protection. Germany, France, UK and other EU countries have a strong and sophisticated arms industry....

It's still waking up to the existential threats posed by its eastern neighbour and the arms industry still profit focussed rather than configured for national defence strategies. The continent could all be coordinating defence procurement and production from tomorrow, but the political will just doesn't seem to be there, even in the most pro-Ukrainian states. So for now European efforts are likely to remain piecemeal and unilateral.

I was in Kharkiv in January before this hell started. I returned to America for school. This is deeply personal to me. Kharkiv was a beautiful city full of universities and technical institutes.
That's also the impression I got from private videos uploaded by a foreigner with friends in Kharkiv. A beautiful city full of life, culture, know-how. A flourishing city. But the russians can't stand looking at anything good and positive outside their own country. So they feel they must destroy it.
