portucito7 Yeah but crocodiles and alligators are known to usually feed in small groups within the same area. Humans are very easy sources of food in crocodile/alligator infested waters hence why even police and paramedic services are instructed strictly to stay out of the water when someone has been attacked.

Alligators usually are just of scared of you as you are of them. If you leave them alone there won't be a problem. Very rarely if they feel you are invading their space or they are hungry would they ever try to attack.
ok, basic lesson from a biology student here. Except humans, NO animal hunts if it is not hungry and usually, for a carnivorous species to survive, it has to have a normal food source that it uses. As humans aren't preferred pray for ANY animal, that means, there has to be something else already which they can eat, which in turn means, they have absolutely NO necessity to feed on humans.
So basically, unless you are dumb enough to rush straight to the crocodile/alligator you are entirely save. And whoever does that is a perfect candidate for a Darwin Award and should do it to get one.

Thousands of territorial animals such as Meerkats invade neighboring clans to slaughter their young to eliminate competition.
