- [From "Kovacs Corner" on CZcams.com] - Tired of staying awake due to Lou's toothache, Bud drags Lou to the dentist for an extraction. Here the dentist, played by Murray Leonard, works on the hapless Costello. Also look for comedian Fritz Feld.

"How about some gas?" Sure check my oil too
Psychiatrist: Lou Costello isn't real, he can't hurt you
Lou Costello: 5:40
*Phone rings* "hello? The Red Cross? You want a quart of blood?" Looks at Costello deviously and chuckles. "I'll have it to you in an hour"
"Hey! My tooth don't hurt no more! Look!"
*smacks himself in the cheek*
*sings "it's time to say goodbye"*
Double negative translation: "Hey, my tooth hurts anymore!"
Dr. Richards is a master dentist...he leaves all his patients with PTSD
His style is most unique and suited him perfectly. It would be near impossible to find a comedian of such a natural talent. Even the three stooges had a pretentious aspect to them except perhaps Curly Howard whose innate unique character was another rare one amongst the great few!
“Does it hurt here?.... here? .... must be here.” Wack. 😂😂
"You didn't do nuthin' yet" *Laughs nervously*
Double negative translation: "You did anything yet."
I wonder if anybody else remembers an abbot and Costello skit where Lou is trying to go to sleep but can't do it and he rents asleep record and ends up putting his feet up on the wall as he struggles to sleep. it's hysterical
Yea i remember lol
*SMACK* "Don't point! It's impolite!" 🤣
Who gave this man a Dental License?
Then again it could be worse, Dr. Richards could be your surgeon
Going to the dentist in 1948 had to be a harrowing experience…LOL.
Visits to the dentist have been portrayed as a hilariously harrowing ordeal for at least a century in movies, TV shows, animated cartoons, and live vaudeville skits.
Yes, you will laugh no matter what your disposition. It's medicine!
I'm honestly surprised no dentist made a complaint about their profession always being portrayed as so intimidating.
🤣🤣🤣
They know what they're about
They are intimidating, but without them what trouble we would be in ,a toothless nation !
True comedy. :)
This is pure gold
4:53 Lou whacks the dentist in the nuts.
I went to thr dentist today.... this is satirical ever !!!!! 😜😜😜
I sent that one to my Uncle when he had an awful toothache hehehe
Bastard! 😂
They always had great supporting casts
I grew up on this stuff. Is it any wonder I had an irrational fear of dentists?
Have you ever seen Supreme Court justice Elana Kagen and Lou
Costello in the same room together at the same time ? ?
Yes.
Priceless 😊😅😮😢😂❤❤❤❤❤❤guys
if he was my dentist, he'll be losing some tooth himself.
😂😂😂😂😂
@@wiseguymaybe
Haha yes that's right.
Ever notice these dentist skits seem designed to make people terrified of the dentist?
sonrouge Well, people already were.
@sonrouge - Where would the comedy be if dentists were portrayed as gentle and non-threatening?
Lol the painless dentist lol
I ain't
The funniest dentist sketch is the one with Harvey Korman and Tim Conway.
I want a tooth pulled and I don’t care how much it hurts 😅
I'm just going to cancel my dentist appointment now
😆😆😆
beautiful
A painless dentist?
Yeah Right
First the bottle bottom spectacles..... then the rest
Eran encantadores!!!.
4:37. Now I know where space Jam got this idea lol
Amazing
Painless Richard 😂😂
It feels so weird that there's no laugh track
Gyro Spyro it adds character to the show I guess. The laugh track is used way too much....
There's no need. This is when films were funny on their own merit.
Because movies don't have laugh tracks.
@@susanb2015 Short and sweet - well put.
Yes..Fritz plays the shrink..who thinks..that he's lost his mind..when he sees"Tommy's"(Lou's)head..coming up thru his floor.
Yea sounds like my dentist
My former dentist..Dr.Judiah Orkin..Jud would have found this scene..funny.
Mr zomdis about 20 years before lost in space🧟
This is why kids hate Dentists
This is what happens when you don't have dental or a seeing eye dog.
Just put it in second and leave it there!!!!
how easy it was to get things done..no insurance,no papers to fill out and it was free lol
4:53 nut tap!
I think this dentist reminds me of Rodney dangerfield.
You think...?
What's up with Abbot telling castello to not get excited? That appears to be a reoccurring phrase in the show.
That's my favourite phrase: "Take it easy. Don't get excited" :)
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol
Funny shit
Is it safe?
In one year, no one got the Marathon Man reference.
Where’s the laugh track
It's from one of their movies The Noose Hangs High.
I get the feeling Lou didn't really enjoy this sketch, his irritation is sometimes a little too real. The big part is the incompetent dentist; Lou is only a supporting role to him.
making fun of dentists is the best thing
Sorry but being an Abbott & Costello fan, this is not good at all.. if you want to see the funny version of this sketch, see it with Lou Costello and Sidney Fields. Same exact sketch, but the one with Fields is actually funny. . .
Correct
I don't like this sense
Boring
Pathetic skit.
I agree - not funny at all.
You both are wrong.
We're never "getting back up and putting our hat back on" when we reconnect with our more than brave comedy team.🎯🤣🎩🎩🏗🏢🦷🌅 Stay safe everyone!
