I just found out I'm living in a illegal rental. I found out because ive been fighting with the landlord to fix the heater. It got turned off for poor ventalation, been off since October. My landlord just got back from a cruise to Guatemala. She goes on like 5 a yr. So yes illegal rental are an issue. Rich people that dont like to keep on properties do this. Now im in a predictment find new place or deal. She alrdy said she wont give security back. So this is a wall and hard spot. Even if I did call code it would only hurt me. The laws protect these dead beat slumlors.

New york decided to take in a crazy amount of migrants recently without providing shelter for many. Many of them are in Queens, but have no where to live. Is the solution to have them live on the street? Lot of these migrants are squatting at houses now
