    For starters, to have a real poutine you need specific gravy and cheese curds
    Nanaimo bars are from British Columbia names after a city on Vancouver island
    Canadian maple syrup comes straight from maple trees and goes through a complex process, it is sweeter and tastes more like maple unlike nasty American maple syrup
    Lastly, bonjour is French for hello, some French Canadians say “à votre santé” which means cheers

    • @emilylovespugss5079

      whoa ------- I'm American but have a TON of canadian family and go there all the time- no one say a vontre sante and you know what-- that was a real nice way to undermine American syrup because any day Maine syrup is soooo much better than Canadian syrup also I know SOME of the syrup from America has artificial stuff but not all and syrup here is sooo much better!!!

    • @Sweetkaos26
      @Sweetkaos26 Před 5 lety +1

    I moved to America 11 years ago, and I always disliked syrup, I tried it once and never used syrup ever again. But when I went up to Vancouver for a concert two years ago, my step dad asked me to get Canadian maple syrup for him. I tried some after a lot of convicing and I LOVED IT! It has a different consistency, it's amost like a bit more watery not as thick, and has a light sweetness to it rather than overly sweet taste like the syrup here in America.

      Cheese curds... not just any cheese. Also it has to be the right gravy and the fries have to be crispy. Also you layer the fries, cheese curds, gravy, and repeat not just dump it on top.

      Strawberry Orchards it isn't, but at the same time we for some reason refer to BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba all as "western" which makes no sense to me... they take up the west AND the middle...

      Strawberry Orchards lol oh man just watched the Nanaimo bar part. I'm literally in Nanaimo BC right now. I didn't know that there could be Canadians that didn't know how to pronounce it. But hey I also usually pronounce "poutine" the Anglophone way soooo

    My family ate at Tim Hortons twice as we drove through Canada to get to Alaska! All I have to say is it was amazing and honestly my husband and I both agreed that the food was way less greasy than our fast food here! I would visit again just to eat there!
