  • Before getting into the recipe, I just wanted to acknowledge that we are in a really scary time due to COVID-19. I do however, want to keep things light on this channel, so while all my favorite boba shops are closed indefinitely, I wanted to try my hand at making some of my favorite toppings & drinks and show you guys how to do it in the comfort of your own home.
    Recipe From: Run Away Rice:
    runawayrice.co...
    How I Made It:
    Ingredients:
    2 8oz Cans Lychee Jelly
    4TSP Gelatin [Unflavored]
    - Open the can(s) of Lychee & drain the syrup in one container and the lychee fruit in another
    - Pour 1 cup of the syrup into bowl/baking dish and evenly sprinkle 4TSP of gelatin on top.
    - Place bowl/baking dish in the freezer for 20 minutes or until gelatin is firm.
    - While waiting for the gelatin to set, pour 1/2 cup of syrup into another measuring cup and set aside.
    - Once gelatin has firmed up, heat the remaining 1/2 cup of syrup in the microwave until it boils (1 Minute)
    - Add the hot syrup to the cold syrup/gelatin mixture & whisk until all the gelatin is dissolved (Make sure no undissolved gelatin remains)
    - Add chopped Lychees into the mixture
    - Chill in the refrigerator until the jelly sets (about 2 hours)
    - Once firm, cut into cubes and place in your favorite drink or just eat it.

If you want a firmer jelly texture, use agar instead of gelatin.

Just use agar agar. It’s derived from seaweed instead of collagen taken from animal body parts.

What if you used a gummy bear recipe with gelatin to make your lychee gelatin do you think that would give you the texture that you're looking for would probably have a chew like tapioca pearls

@@BobaddictedTV I'm confused, litchi and lychee are the same fruit, you can call it by either name. My question is why you would pronounce lychee as litchi? Similarly I find it awkward if litchi was pronounced as lychee. You can call the fruit by whichever name but I find it confusing when written lychee but pronounced as litchi?
Most asians will pronounce it as litchi but in that case why write it as lychee to begin with?
Or am I just ignorant to the fact that in some countries the fruit is written lychee but can be pronounced as litchi?
      Btw great video👏
