    Vachier-Lagrave is an amazing player, who absolutely trounced Kasparov a couple of times. He has a very unfortunate name though.

    Yeah, me too. Aronian is such a player in every aspect. What a great game he played with Carlsen at the Botvinnik Memorial. He drew that game, by the way. Afterward, they are both smiling and laughing. It must be cool to be at the top of a top heavy Sport - particularly when it's so commonly associated with Genius.

    one thing i like with aronian is he alway have a short friendly talk before and after the game...

    @ryanjavierortega8513 Před 12 lety

    In fact, it looked like the Fischer-Larsen Game from 1958 where Fischer won against the defense with 3 sacs and a Queen side Castling that indicated an all out Blitz on Larsen's King.

    @khann2159 Před 10 lety +2

    Ryan Ortega, you are wrong. This is a King's Indian defense, is very very different than the sicilian Dragon and Aronian never plays King's pawn.

    aronian is the most relaxed chess player!

  • @ryanjavierortega8513
    @ryanjavierortega8513 Před 12 lety

    Aronian is playing the Sicilian Dragon Yugoslav - that is the opening they are doing, for sure.

  • @ryanjavierortega8513
    @ryanjavierortega8513 Před 12 lety

    You know what, you're right, it is a King's Indian, but Aronian played into the same opening Fischer used, just in a different way - uchihadante77 is 100% right - I wonder if he would agree with me on how Aronian translated the Opening?

  • @ryanjavierortega8513
    @ryanjavierortega8513 Před 12 lety

    In regards to the question concerning the position of Aronian's Pieces, they do, to me at least, bear a strong Positional Set-up to those of the Reutzer Attack. But, again, I wrote too soon and should have looked closer and continually. It is the King's Indian - The basic Sicilian opens 1.e4...c5, but the 2 knights and the pawn formation had me fooled - I thought I saw something I didn't. I hate being wrong, and I hate laying claim to something that is incorrect and not knowing so - I thank you.

  • @ryanjavierortega8513
    @ryanjavierortega8513 Před 12 lety

    I know, you're absolutely correct - I wrote a few comments that actually apologized for my error and supported your claim - which is a fact. I just thought that the Opening Aronian pulled looked like one from a Fischer-Larsen game from 1958, where Fischer won against the Dragon, Yugoslav Variation of the Sicilian. The opening on Aronian's part looks similar (check the Fischer Game out) for 7 moves, then switches - I looked away and back at the screen, and foolishly wrote my support on the wall.

    Why do you hate being wrong? There is no reason for. People love you BECAUSE you are sometimes wrong. Perfection is a very lonely place to be; just stay by yourself. All the best.

    Why Aronian delayed to exchange knight on f4 for so long? Why not just to take Bxf4 on the first occasion, and then have an endgame with knight against dark squared bishop and many black pawns on dark squares? He did eventually do that but far too late in my opinion...

    • @maelstrom57
      @maelstrom57 Před 7 lety

      Marius Latinis Only noobs take the knight in this position. There's no reason whatsoever to give black a protected passed pawn and a monster dark-squared bishop with all the weak dark squares that white has. He took the knight only after he had weakened f4 when he won the pawn on g5.

    • @weibinong4326
      @weibinong4326 Před 6 lety

      black can take it v e5 pawn and have some counterplay on queenside by b5 and both rooks will try to go to second rank of white

    @ryanjavierortega8513 Před 12 lety

    The Sicilian Defense, Dragon Variation, Yugoslav Attack!

  • @ryanjavierortega8513
    @ryanjavierortega8513 Před 12 lety

    @Russianboyz95 - I agree. It's like playing someone on Chess.com. They throw pieces away or place them in spots that are only momentarily beneficial. I admit to having to read a great deal in order to have an OK Endgame, but comments like that to which you replied just seem foreign to me. The person must have not been looking.

  • @uchihadante77
    @uchihadante77 Před 12 lety

    @ICarnag3I that was a King´s Indian Defense; his main caracteristic is the bishop on g7 and playing d6 later.You should study a little:P

  • @uchihadante77
    @uchihadante77 Před 12 lety

    Nope,you are wrong,look that up if you don´t believe me,that´s a King´s indiand defense,it can´t be a sicilian if 1.e4 hasn´t been played.Besides Aronian never plays King´s pawn.

    @ryanjavierortega8513 Před 11 lety

    Wonderful. To everyone on the Page who took my error as a personal affront, I wanted to apologize to you all - I noticed it almost right away and corrected myself and apologized over 7 months ago, but if my recanting is being ignored, and only my mistake being noted, then I must have done something terrible wrong.
    Rafael, i added you.

  • @ryanjavierortega8513

    I intended it to be taken in a truncated fashion, so that it implied something along the following: I hate being wrong and stating X (what it is that I am wrong about) in an empathetic manner; I am grateful someone pointed out my error, so as it did not become another's error.
    'Just stay by yourself'? Is this personal? By which I mean, are you personally insulting me?

    0:48 Why Aronian doesn't play e5 ? It forces knight to go back to b8 since the pawn on e7 is still there.

    Wow. Several times immediately after posting what I posted, I said, "I'm wrong, I apologize, you're clearly correct." I thought i saw a transposition, I thought I saw an e-pawn and not a d-pawn - again, I am sorry.

    Ryan Ortega has no clue what he's talking about.
    I liked Aronian's plan of trading down where his white pawn's would be immune from black's bishop. Not sure what he was thinking at the end though.. why not get Ra7.. should have beat black to the A file and won a pawn.

  • @jonsmith5509
