  • In this video, we will build a special pedalboard for guitar synths. The two main synths we are going to use will be the GM800 and the SY-1000. We will synch them together and control them with one guitar. We are also mounting expression pedals and CTR function switches. Furthermore, we will also mount boxes that allow us to use different GK pickups.
The pedal board we are using is from Temple Audio. It is a great system and it does not use Velcro.

Nice one, thank you for sharing !!
I use a similar setup for bass (GR-55 is now retired) with SY-1000, GM-800 + GKC-AD, EXP pedal into the SY-1000 with it sending midi cc#80 to the other pedals, a DIY midi foot note controller.
    I use GM-800 parts 1 & 2 for GK pickup, and parts 3 & 4 for the midi pedal.
I use just 1 EXP which controls both the SY-1000 and GM-800 so that in the middle position is a mix of both, SY-1000 heel down and GM-800 toe down, depending on the patch (SY-1000 is the master patch controller and the other pedals follow) the mixes can be different ratios, or in different EXP positions .
A DIY GK splitter top right corner (in attached photo link) + DIY passive stereo mixer for stereo out to PA, and mono monitor send to stage amp.
There is a Boss VE-500 there too for vocal effects, and the FS-7 is used A = vocal effects bypass, B = special spot vocal effect.
The GKC-AD is under the GM-800, and the SY-1000 + GM-800 power supplies are under the top of the SY-1000 (see it is tilted upwards at the back).
All works out quite good, but you need to balance the tone levels right before using at a gig.
Picture link of my DIY pedal board below, which also has a lid, handle, and suitcase clips, with cable storage in the lid, so I can carry it easily like a suitcase.

That’s a great setup! Inspiring! That board looks heavy though!

It's not really that bad. The Temple audio boards are rugged but light. I have not weighed them, but I would say both boards are under 20 pounds.

Hi! Thank you so much for the video!
Tell me how do you switch the guitar sound that comes from a regular pickup
To the SY-1000 guitar processor. between the sound that comes from the GM 800 synthesizer
Write in more detail about the connection scheme and settings

CZcams sent your comment to held for review. I have that feature turned off, but CZcams sent it there anyway, and I just now found it. Sorry for the delayed response.
Well to start both synths plug into a mixer. You need to use a powered speaker like a P.A. speaker of some sort or plug into a P.A. system. You can use a small mixer. On the mixer, I use odd numbers for left and even numbers for right. This is pretty standard. Plug both synths in stereo. Pan the odd numbers hard left and the even numbers hard right. Plugging into a guitar amp will not sound good at all.
Each synth has two CTL function connections. I use one for an expression pedal and I use the other for the FS7 control function switch. I balance between the two synths by using the expression pedals for each synth. Furthermore, I control the volume of both synths in this fashion. If you want a more detailed explanation, check out this video

Not a bad setup at all! To bad for the power supply issue! So how's the tap dancing with the board? Is it comfortable getting to all the switches? I have a huge Trailer Trash pedalboard that I have set up with my Helix and Gr55 plus a few other stomp boxes. Everything fits well after a few changes in configuration. But with the weight of the board and the effects on it it comes in at about 50 to 60 pounds lol. Thought about building a two tier board for home use. But I think this might do the trick for my synth setup to travel with. Thanks for sharing, great job Marcus!
