I also love the attitude to romantic feelings in this song. Like, it's not, "I hate love I'll never fall in love because I don't need it one bit and it's disgusting"; it's "I've never been in love, and I'm okay with that. I might fall in love one day, who knows, but I haven't so far and I don't feel the need to. I don't really care".
That's why the song speaks to me. I'm aroace, never been in love and I'm perfectly fine with staying single all my life if it continues to be like this. But I do support my friends with their relationships and it warms my heart whenever my best friend talks about his girlfriend. He is so in love and I'm so happy for him!

Reading these comments really shows the power of music, everyone can have their own interpretation of songs, it's awesome. Aro and aces can relate and younger people can probably too. Even though I'm straight and in a relationship (with an ace), this really makes me reflect on the concept of love and when it became such a important and necessary part of my life because there was a time where it was the last thing on my mind and finding it felt so far away...

Okay serious here for a moment: I have SERIOUS appreciation for Will because he looks at topics that you never hear about in mainstream music. Being aro or ace means the lack of romantic or sexual *attraction.* I think there might be loads of people out there who do experience those kinds of attraction and never have been in love.
As a fellow ace being I can't really explain how attraction works xd but yeah, bare in mind, you can be allosexual and not be in love :)

I'm aromantic, I've never felt feelings of love for someone else, even with past boyfriends or "crushes". I was always trying to trick myself so maybe I could be normal and maybe even eventually feel these things.

I really relate to this. I always found myself having "curshes" on people that i thought were really cool, that's always how I thought it was supposed to be. And I've been in a couple relationships now, and each time, I have found that I like the person way more as friends, and that bringing romance into things was a chore, and that honestly, it made me more uncomfortable that anything.
I really get what you mean about being scared for the future. I more not be attracted to people romantically, but I still enjoy affection, and the idea of being close with someone. I don't know if I'll ever find someone who want to stick around with me. Cause while I don't want to get married, nor have a romantic partner, I still want someone that I can share my life with, maybe move in together, but still go to our separate rooms at night, and have no expectation of romance. I'm scared that if I find someone that I want to share my life with, they will see it as a temporary thing, or expect romance, or find a partner and leave. It's scary, but like you said, I'm just going to vibe for now and see where life decides to take me.

I never understood why “you’re just a late bloomer/you’ll find the right person” was meant to be a rejection. Like, sure, the future is full of possibilities but we’re in the present and right now this is how I feel. Just because things change doesn’t mean that what you are in the moment isn’t valid, anymore than saying a child isn’t really young because they’ll be an adult someday.

You know what I absolutely love about this? Red is the color of romance, which is the background as it would presumably be, but Will is wearing green. Green is opposite to red on the color wheel, hence the color opposite to romantic love. AND in the aromantic flag (all three versions), green is included for that exact reason--lack of romantic attraction. Then at the end he tears down the background, thus tearing down society expecting him to fall in love.
And that my friends is another reason why this sing is an ideal aromantic anthem.

It's perfectly okay to change a bit and there's no great way to know what labels are actually you right off the bat, so just see if it fits you and decide when you're ready! Just don't shy off at first and you're figure it out eventually! No matter what, you're still valid and important and you are more than your labels!
In media , there is an overwhelming amount of romance and love related stuff , and it's very rare to find gems like this .
