The Congress manifesto was by and large citizen oriented. Agree with your analysis. The BJP, let us not forget, depends heavily on the Hindi belt to achieve a majority in 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. Hindu Vote consolidation is the core for this purpose.

Yes, issues to be debated are concerns of high rate of unemployment, spiralling rise of essential, especially food commodities, high prices of petrol, unaffordable housing, education for all, free medical facilities, to name a few. Rajdeep, continue with your journalism, the manner in which you have bravely carried on till now n much like your father, the great Dilip Sardesai who batted fearlessly, especially against the mighty West Indies in the 1971 tour of the Caribbean. You surely have fluttered a few features doing this episode but I pray that the Almighty continues to give you the strength to focus n debate the real issues on 9 pm prime time n future episodes of "Straight Bat" issues that is affecting the common man and expose brazenly practiced, "identity politics" which will surely not take the country too far.
