Shahida's Heart Story: From Crisis to Cure

Shahida Bano experienced persistent chest pain, fatigue, and difficulty breathing. One day, while cooking at home, she lost consciousness and fell onto the stovetop, suffering serious burns on her face, neck, and chest. Seeking treatment at local hospitals, Shahida discovered she had a heart issue and was referred to Indus Hospital in Korangi.
At Indus hospital, she received the care she needed, including the placement of a pacemaker, which relieved her pains. Shahida’s treatment was also made possible by the Association of Pakistani-Descent Cardiologists of North America (APCNA), which is generously donating pacemakers to Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN).
