  • My friend dropped off his really nice 1979 Honda CT90 (Trail 90 or Postie Bike) for me to get going again. After some work and cleaning it turned out great. These are awesome little bikes, if you get a chance to ride one I suggest you go. Just so much fun!

Wow. It's always cool to see something like this that was hopeless in someones eye's, and then discover sometimes the cure is simple and straightforward . Cool project Tom!

I got pretty lucky with this one, it wasn’t messed with much over the years. Turned out pretty nice.

Looks like a pretty complete 90. I finished restoring a 78 that had been sitting for 30 years. Watch those plastics. Look at them wrong and they break. A good modification for these is getting a bad sealed beam headlight and make it a removable bulb led 6v set up. Much brighter and doesn't use as much power as the original. I didn't like where that coil is located so i mounted a new one on the side of the skid plate bar for easy access. Theres also a super tiny bulb for the high beam indicator on the gauge on these later models. Kind of hard to find bulb. Fired first kick! Awesome.

Yeah, pretty complete and original example here. I did that headlight mod on mine, but I have a 12v system. I had forgotten about that weird bulb until I was checking all of the lights, wondering why just that one is different? Anyway, these bikes are always fun. Thanks for watching.

Remember riding around a '72? Trail 125. Bike was a beast. Great video

72 was probably a Trail 90, they made them until 79 when it became the Trail 110. All pretty similar, all fun!

Great video Tom. I really enjoyed watching it and I've enjoyed the little Ninja project too. I hope you continue to do resurrection projects of these cheap bikes like the average working man (or retired in my case) can afford to mess with. Congratulations on the 10k. I think you were in the hundreds when I started watching your stuff.

Thank you for being here so long. Well, I am the average retired guy too so I do like these kind of projects.

Tom, I liked that video. Those little bikes are something else.
There are 2 guys traveling around the world on those bikes, one from Argentina and the other one from the United Kingdom. Is your friend selling it?

Man, i just purchased a 95% complete 1968 CT 90. Would anyone give me a few points of contact for parts?

DrATV carries a lot of parts for these bikes. I haven't bought anything from them in a while, heard they had moved the entire operation to Ebay.
