Exactly Infinity War is told from his point of view, how he perceives himself and Endgame is told from everyone else’s view point and how they perceive him.
It's perfectly balanced, as all stories should be.

I don’t think anyone else ever mentioned Thor’s scene with Rocket: ‘what more can I lose?’ is to me the most powerful moment of the film.
I feel that Thor showing pain added depth to his character which was lacking in Thor: Ragnarok.
He should've left that reaction to that conversation between Thor and Rocket.

Thanos doesn’t want to “save” the Universe, moreso he wants to “FIX” it. He wants people to learn from their mistakes, and do better next time.

He can snap his fingers and eliminate half of all life on Earth, but in 30 to 50 years the population will have grown back. It's human nature to rebuild after catastrophes. That's something Thanos didn't take into account.

The fact that never fails to impress me about Infinity War is how it never feels like there's too many characters, despite _everyone_ being there.
Each character feels like they should be there, no one is unnecessary.
I just love it.

Hey Matt, instead of thinking of them as all dead and knowing they’re going to come back, rather think about the impact their deaths will have on the ones who are still alive. I too had a problem with all the characters dying when infinity war first came out but after seeing endgame I realized that we are supposed to know they’re going to come back, it’s captain America, Thor, iron man, etc who do not believe they will come back. It’s all about the impact it has on the living.
That’s I felt when they died in Infinity War, I simply put myself in their shoes.
I was simultaneously excited by the snap when watching in theaters and worried it would 100% be undone in the next. I was so happy with the compromises made in End Game where the heroes _kinda_ save the day, but there are _massive_ lasting impacts from the event that carried forward, which are so fun to witness how it's explored further in Far From Home and WandaVision.

I didn't believe that Thanos really loved Gamora until I watched Infinity War for the second time when she tells him that she hates his chair. Thanos loves and respects Gamora's feelings and sits on the stairs instead.

They really didn’t, and I’m kinda tired of people using that as a reason IW is superior. These movies are about those with the most connection to the infinity saga, so Spider-Man, Falcon, Black Panther, and so on won’t play major roles, which they likely will in phases 5 and 6.

they definitely told a whole story. this was Thanos's movie, he was the protagonist. The movie starts with his quest to get the stone and ends with him achieving his goal. Thats part of the genius of this movie, as the villain is the main character.
They finished thanos’s story, but not the avengers.

I thought one of the best moments was when thor was talking about “what more can I lose” it really shows how he lost everything and tries to mask it with humor
The best acting Hemsworth has ever done is in that scene.
So many people see Thor in "End Game" as hilarious, and as this big joke, but I see him in that movie as incredibly tragic because I can't help but think of everything he's lost up to that point.

Just seeing his journey he's gone through especially from Thor Ragnarok and onwards -losing Heimdall, his parents, Loki, Asgard, his guilt over not killing Thanos before the snap etc. despite him being a powerful god, it really humanises him. When he sees his mother again when he goes back in time, we again so how much has struggling when he says "I can't do this" to Rocket.

It did NOT do a thoroughly well rounded job. The proof of this is in the fact that the first 10 or so minutes of Endgame actually has Infinity War's ending. From Thanos destroying the stones, to announcing how he made his universal affect permanent, and Thor killing Thanos when it was too late, and Thor walking out of the hut and that being the lasst time the audience would see THAT iteration of Thor, THAT is the true ending of Infinity War. It just happens to part part of the beginning of a slightly big and yet much BETTER film.

@@Alpha-bt9bh nah. Infinity War is cool, but it is just fireworks show. Its eventually just a long trailer for all the emotions that Endgame provides very well. You could even argue that Infinity War is not a movie per se, as it doesnt even have first, second, or third act. Out of all the MCU Infinity War is the one that trully feels like an episode of a series. Entertaining and gripping, but lacks a lot. Endgame however, its perfect movie to close off MCU (i know technically its far from home, but it serves more as an epilogue more than an actual ending of the Infinity Saga).

If you look back at the MCU, you’ll notice that Tony Stark improves his armor based on past failures.
- Lot of the upgrades throughout Iron Man 1 (better flight, mobility, icing problem at high altitude, gps in the suit because he got kidnapped, etc)
- Avengers his suit can absorb Thor’s lightning after being weak to electricity against Whiplash in Iron Man 2
- Got rid of his mechanical heart in Iron Man 3 since it almost killed him several times.
- He uses Nano robot armor in Infinity War since Ant Man crawled under his armor in civil war and messed with his internals.
- Heater in suit after the icing problem in iron man 1 and being left out in the cold in iron man 3
- In Age of Ultron, the Hulkbuster armor’s blasters were too weak, so in infinity war he has those extra pieces fly out from behind him to amplify his blast
- He has flight stabilizers in infinity war to help with mid air combat, which is something he’s struggled with several times before
- He has a big rocket booster in infinity war because he wasn’t fast enough to get to Rhodey before he hit the ground in Civil war
- He also installed a parachute in to the iron spider suit because of Rhodey getting injured in that fall
- After getting his butt whooped in melee combat in Civil War, his infinity war armor has a lot of melee upgrades (the shield being one of them, as well as all the techniques he uses against Thanos)

When I first got into the mcu, I really wasn't a fan of tony stark/ iron man. Over time his character slowly started to change, but what made me appreciate him, was the attention to detail to constantly upgrade the suit and all of it's features. Great job putting them together like that in a list!

Matt, the reason why all the deaths in this movie are so impactful is because it’s difficult to imagine how they could possibly be brought back. To the characters in the movie, they just lost so many friends and loved ones, they aren’t thinking “oh don’t worry they’ll be back.”
If Holden had animated himself and Rich turn into dust when they left, the video would have won extra points.

When I saw that happen I was like. Eh its not the first time he'll be back
I forgot just how emotional this movie makes me. My theatrical experience with this was astonishing (only surpassed, I think, by Endgame) and it was great to have those memories come back. I was totally laughing, tearing up, and cheering along with you guys. That feeling of reliving the best moments of my favorite franchises, as well as getting some new insight on characters/plot/etc, is why I'm so invested in your series! Loved the opening skit, you crushed it Holden! Can't wait for next week's video.
I love how Matt took over for you the way he did. I literally am excited to watch these videos seeing someone for the first time experience what I experienced as a huge fan of marvel movies since Toby Mcguire even but especially since iron man. I always liked Iron man more yet captain America was who I related to more. This whole series is beautiful and I appreciate it all in every way. Keep it up guys! Also its amazing to see how matt went into these movies and now is really really into it all. The Infinity war reaction came out a lot sooner than i thought it would

Iron Man had shields because he is always trying to improve his suit. He had freezing problems, so he fixed that. He lost to cap in civil war in close quarter hand to hand combat, so he put a shield in hie suit. There are many more subtle changes to his suit, that originated in defeats in earlier moments.

Iron man 2 = Electric resistance to Thor
You know when you say it like that iron man actually defeated cap in close combat as well. But when cap was down Bucky tried to grab Tony nd then Tony got distracted by him. So for all practical purposes Tony actually won in that 2 v 1 battle except when he got distracted.
Hope everyone likes the animations in the intro, I worked really hard on them! Recreating Matt’s living room in full CGI with Thanos was quite the feat. Let’s not even talk about creating that Wakanda shot ahahaha.

Not to mention they're essentially combining two franchises with some standalone characters including the 'main protagonist'. It would be a struggle for most filmmakers and writers to squeeze that into 5 hours even

I think Matt will love Endgame cause it has a lot of By-Gone Jim moments and character development. This movie is hard to rate right after seeing it for the first time. The ending is so crushing, I know it took me at least a few days to process what happened, even though I knew most of the deaths were going to be reversed.

The comics were better. Love is illogical so it makes sense Thanos would be crazy. MCU Thanos had a dumbass plan for population control which would either delay the inevitable growth or permanently kill of several species. Either way, he doesn't bring balance.

The whole experience with his planet just made him want to be the one right about that one thing finally, not being the good guy. It shows in Endgame, where he says: fuck it. Now I will kill everyone and create totally new universe, where everyone will like me for what i did to them xD He is still simping, just not for death, but for general admiration of his shitty being and ideas.

The scene where Thor comes into wakanda, and stormbreaker just straight up destroys all of the bad guys, and banner yells “you guys are so screwed now!” That’s my favorite scene in the entire MCU.

I watched Infinity War and Endgame both in theaters and at home and it's a very different ambience and experience. You lose a lot of awesome experience if you don't watch it in theaters.

I don't get why people keep saying this was "part one of two" It wasn't. It was Thanos's movie, he won. That's the movie. There is no: "To be continued" at the end or "wait for part two" there is no cliffhanger.
This movie has a complete arc, a beginning, middle and end.
Then, a sequel, that is a completely different movie and a different tone continues the story.
Yeah, this is a finished story and you could have ended your watch in here if you wanted... But as we all know Marvel fans can't get enough 😂😂
