Vancouver nudists cry foul as region removes logs from famous Wreck Beach

  • A petition is picking up steam looking to return privacy to the famous Wreck Beach in Vancouver, B.C.
The beach has long been a popular spot for beachgoers, where clothing and bathing suits are optional.
The petition said large logs at the beach have been replaced by much smaller logs.
And as Global's Paul Johnson reports, the old logs provided beachgoers a barrier from weather, and more importantly, people who could be interpreted as “peeping toms.”

Classic. Vancouver making another decision to earn the title ‘no fun city’. Can’t pay to fix Kits pool, but can waste money removing these logs for ‘safety’.

Logs are great markers and give you your privacy. Just because you sunbathe nude you don't want to be a target to voyeurs! in the 1980's I loved going g to the beach there, and there were the odd creepers, but people actually looked out for them and the culture of the community made it so that if spotted, they were asked to go by people who frequented the beach. I don't know what the culture is now, but I felt safe there and if you managed the hike down, you deserved the serenity and peace and quiet.

The nudists have a petition calling for their privacy. Sorry, if you want privacy then go be nude in your home. If you chose to be naked in a public place where everyone has a legal right to be equally, then you voluntarily forfeit your privacy. And actually, it is a constitutional right of every Canadian to photograph or video record anyone or anything in a public place. I would personally have the respect not to in this case, but other people can exercise that right. So again, if you feel uncomfortable then do this in your own home or fenced backyard

I know where you are coming from! Nepal 🇳🇵 is a mountainous country that comprises 8 out of the 10 tallest mountains in the world including Mount Everest, Mount Kanchenjunga, Mount Manaslu, amongst others!
In fact, it is one of the few countries that had never been colonized. The Anglo-Nepal war was fought in 1814 AD, and Britishers were astonished by the bravery of the Nepalese soldiers. Their weapon, Khukuri, has helped britishers during WWI, WWII and the recent Falkland war in Argentina. Be it the Germans or Japanese in Burma, they have faced the brunt of these smiling warriors.
I know you hate mass immigration from a specific country that is evident in your comment. Maybe it's acceptable too. But bringing everyone under the same boat and spewing hatred for people randomly, I feel, is a bit overboard.
The reporter walks up to the person who is visiting the beautiful BC, was enjoying his own solitude, so who do you think is at mistake here? Maybe asking a first-timer tourist doesn't make sense, I agree on that!
Please keep yourself in that spot, and is that hatred justified if you went to a foreign country as a tourist, and you get hated for absolutely no reason, just for exploring the places.
Sorry, I know Canadians are friendly folks, but ask someone who has been to Nepal, and you will know Nepalese are a friendly group of people too😊
