I'd love to see more of this, maybe make a series of it! Craig's tips were really interesting and it's amazing how far you came in just one session, would be interesting to see how much you could progress over multiple races.

I've experienced a novel series of events in the last while all thanks to Hat films. I won't act like this is some profound life-changing story but thought it would be amusing to share.
On a random GTAV races video from the books like two months ago, Ross mentioned the Netflix docuseries F1: Drive to Survive. I've gotten TV recs before off the guys so I thought I'd give it a watch. The series was pretty good but it actually got me very much into F1, which was something I never really knew much about before. Next thing I'm binge-watching CZcams clips of drivers and interviews and catching up on the latest news for this year. I was really looking forward to the Austrian GP and it did not disappoint. ALSO, I bought some racing games for the first time ever and have been playing them and slowly been getting into sim racing too, might even buy a racing wheel soon. This is all becoming like a fully-fledged hobby weirdly
Anyways I guess what I'm trying to say is it's weird how all of these events occurred because of a throwaway recommendation from Ross one time.

His front tyre hit Trott's back tyre, Trott was almost completely past him and Smith committed to the line he was on and bumped Trott when he could have turned. By the time one racer is that far past another, it's the person behind's job not to collide with the person in front.

Actually, no. Thats not "more fun" at all. THIS is more fun!! This was fucking epic to watch, you actually growing and learning with Craigs help. Far more fun than what it would otherwise have been, just a 18min video of the three of you crashing and fumbling and going nowhere.
Non-rain soft and hard F1 tires operate from 110-140C. Super- and ultrasoft operate from 85-115C. Rain tires will work at near-ambient.

Ross - The default settings for the F1 games with the Logitech G29 steering wheel is really really crap.
You need to lower the Maximum Wheel Rotation in the control settings until full lock (with the in-game car) happens when your arms are crossing each other.

Not gonna lie I was dreading watching this after previous experiences, but with Craig teaching them they all actually improved a hell of a lot! A bit more training at each track I can easily see a little championship coming out of this :D

Craig is SO right about turning off the virtual racing line.
It just hurts you, because you gotta be looking far head into the horizon, not worry about where you are right now. Racing is about anticipating and planning for the next 2 corners, you cannot drive in a "reactionary" mindset, where you only react to the last second's events. Nobody can react fast enough to correct anything like that, you gotta plan ahead instead and not worry about where you are now.
Almost a bit like Lewis Hamilton said after 2018's season, that sometimes he felt a bit of an "out of body" experience, he literally felt as if he was 10 seconds ahead in the upcoming corner, before he had arrived. Then he said, sometimes he "comes back" into his body in the here and now, and how weird that felt xD
It's not wishy washy hokus pokus, thats the way you gotta drive if you wanna go beyond amateur level (in terms of games at least). It's just not possible to deal with everything in your brain, especially with other drivers around you (AI or not), if you only react to stuff happening this exact second.
Gotta live in the 5-10 seconds future, and make every move as a prediction spline path to get to that destination.
