Here in this Beatmaking video tutorial, I wanted to focus on simplicity and not overcomplicate the beat making workflow process on the mpc live mk2 or the mpc one. One of my goals is to keep it simple and fun as i dont want to get to technical with my creativity. i am working with the mpc live mk2 and the Elektron Analog heat for that extra touch to my sample bassed beat.

I agree 100% "My roughmix is my final mix" its so true thats where all the energy is. I have mixed and mastered before meticulously to the point where the beat has lost its energy, yes it sounded good but it lost it raw energy. Now I do everything in house/standalone and process some post mastering but subtle.
I've been using drum breaks more lately and it indeed grooves much nicer than my usual tapping with one shots.
YES SIR👍
Always learning something new watching your videos keep them coming
Thank you so much for taking the time to drop by and sharing this feedback, it really means a lot. Blessings to you.
Excellent! Teaching the secrets that took me years to learn. The community is blessed to have beat makers such as yourself. Keep doing great things!
AGREED !
Great tip for finger drumming training 💪🏼 thanks MALO. drop some new videos : -) because I watch everything from your channel even when I go take a nap or before sleep I listen to your mpc playlist 😂 boosting your watch time and I sleep very well btw.
I see that DFSCR hat!
By far my favorite boom BAP apparel. Other designs are so mature and high class that does not scream out (BEAT MAKER !!) lol I’m gonna be picking up a few more hats pretty soon from them 🦾
Put me on game! Where can I get this?
I can’t wait for the mixing and mastering video.
Yes Malo
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I love this video man. Great workflow.
Always learn lots from ur videos , much love from Australia 🇦🇺
King Mpc 👑
Great video man! You can chop breaks every day and learn something new. So many different ways of approaching what seems like such a simple concept! 💯
That chopping method was what I did when I started (that and by bpm). Now I kinda go by feel but those chops might come in handy in some spots when the inspiration doesn't come through (like this week ffs). And -4 is the sweet spot for me.
Regions is really good especially when I feel a lil bit lazy when cutting samples...gooooood video bruhhh
Great video again!
Thanks for sharing as always Malo. That bass was mean. Much respect brother.
I agree ! Do a mix and master , i keep it simple my self so I’m curious . And I wanted to ask if you got a video on mastering samples so they come out cleanest possible . I learn a lot from your stuff !
Happy holidays Malo! I really feel you on some of these auto chop features they can create really interesting chops! Super fun and nice way to switch it up. Which nowadays in most machines we can just edit the one we dont like😎!
Great video Malo always informative and inspiring me to make music 🎶 💪💪
Nice beat :D
Dope technique Malo!!!!
Bro thank you for using my sound kits in your beat, you did 'em justice 🔥🔥🔥
Very nice Video! 👍
Thank you so much man, I appreciate you taking the time and sharing this feedback.
16 regions chop on a sample with no drums is a golden nugget
Extremely Groovy Mannnnnn 👍🏽👍🏽 I'm Hoping You Use Ozone 10 Advance Along With A LUFS Metering Plug In Off To The Side, if You Go The Hybrid Route On MASTERING. 😁
🔥🔥🔥
🤜🏽🤛🏽
Dope!
nice.. i do that also... great mind!
I learn a lot from Your videos I'm using the analog heat With the MPCX and the CMX 1978l Guitar pedal Have you ever tried out the CMX 1978 guitar pedal
Man 🙏🏾 include in that video your performing/printing beat to ableton process. Like are you sending your drums through one output and your sample through another and just quickly mixing those wav files? That’s the part i get stuck in is printing the beat
Great video as always ! do you do something special to process the mid/side? or you keep everything in stereo? Thanks! Peace!
Can you please do a tutorial on how to sync the mpc in standalone mode to a daw?
I want to be able to use both simultaneously, but do not want to use the plugin because I want to hit outboard gear and my converters.
Hey Malo, Your channel inspires so much man! thanks a lot. Quick Question: have you got a trick to quickly transfer your newly created track to your Iphone so you can listen to it in context? or do you always have to transfer onto your computer first? Thanks a lot and keep it up it, it's awesome
Ik not sure on the MPC One, but I have the X, have an SDD in it and autosync that to a network drive to which my phone has access to. Not so much to listen to it (I can listen on my MPC) , bit to easily share with my people.
@@jeroennasnl1156 interesting! thank you. I have and SSD drive on my LIVE 2 as well. How to you make it autosync to your network? curious now!!
Hey nice video! Have a question. How can I change the key pf my sample without changing the tempo of the sample? I mean, when i change the pitch in sample edit, it also changes the tempo. How can I only change my key? Like for example the pitch on FL??? I looked for it on internet but i found nothing... hope u know how to solve it
Quick question. Is there a way to use the transport buttons on the mpc live while connected to logic via controller mode?
I want to be able to hit record on the mpc and record my loops with logic following in time.
Somebody save me, whenever I’m layering drums in the live 2 Mpc, my snare like clips/cuts off . It’s not too loud either so idk what’s going on. It always waits until like the 3rd one too.
Im new to the mpc world i got a question when i try to load a sample I recorded yesterday it says sample already exist when i try to load it as a drum program what im i doing wrong?thanx for any advice
How do you export your beat with the analog heat effects on it
Just Choose analog heat as your interface and Record Directly Into your daw
In standalone or do you have to use the software?
Dang what's that sample?
It's a beautiful day - Girl with no eyes
Do you guys feel like chopping drum breaks is like cheating compared to making your own? I like using drum breaks cause my natural tapping of one shots always sound weak and less full then rearranging breaks that I find. Let me know
Hey brother, there’s been so many times where I just throw a drum break since it sounds so good. Everybody’s got their own opinions but me personally, I stick to whatever sounds and feels right with the sample and if that is sticking a drum break untouched on top of my sample. I’ll go ahead and do it. I do music, knowing that I’m going to love the outcome regardless of what other peoples opinions are on, what’s professional versus not.
