Honestly if people just gave Digimon a chance, they’d finally realize why it’s true when we say Digimon > Pokémon.
I mean I like digimon, I did watch the first three seasons and it was good.. certainly deeper and more emotional than pokemon ever was..
Then again, pokemon can’t really have serious villains cuz it’s not that kind of story, the pokemon anime is lighthearted and doesn’t have high stakes and villains are super important when you want to make your story more appealing to a crowd that want emotional moments..
The problem with digimon is the lack of creativity in the designs.. and the trash anatomy the moment a design strays from the bipedal dinosaur, bipedal chibi or humanoid form..
Also all of the strongest heroes look like dudes in armor..
You know, we like pokemon because of pokemons not because of the games or the show..
TBH the show and the main series games aren’t that good, except crystal, emerald, platinum and the 5th gen games which were great..
Sure the card game is awesome, that shit is so well designed it makes you feel like a shonen protag and there is the best game ever made pokemon mystery dungeon explorer of sky..
But pokemon fans have fallen in love with the universe first and foremost..
The digimon world is so bland and there is so little to like about the franchise compared to pokemon..

Pokemon are the equivalent of the Pokemon world's animals.
Digimon on the other hand are something else. The general understanding of digimon is that they're sentient bits of data that came alive in a digitial world, which is an interesting concept on its own. How could a program ever be alive, right?
Therefore, the designs are different, because they're influenced by human creations and lore. They're not just animals. Instead, you have 7 demon lords, inspired by biblical lore. You have the Royal Knights, who are all different but look like... well, knights!(Dudes in armor lolz). You also have basic giant mutated animals, like Saber Leomon, or Dinohumon. And the anatomy itself isn't as important, because, once again, they're digital, not physical. They don't follow our laws of physics, or evolution. Plus, don't talk about Digimon anatomy when you have things like Ice-Cream shaped Pokemon. Or a Pokemon that is basically just a rock.
And they all have a background to them, starting from the creation of the world by Yggdrasil.
The digital world has so many different continents and areas which are all beautiful across different games and seasons of the anime.
Plus, I think Digimon have waaay more personality and every digimon has something for someone/everyone. You'd be insane to say that the digimon world and digimon aren't likeable or have personality, or that they're bland, when I've explained just a small portion of what makes digimon world, well, not bland.
This is coming from someone who is a huge fan of Pokemon as well.

"ai" and "y" make the same sound. so it would make sense that Kyri and Kairi would be pronounced the same way.

I loved Blackwargraymon, I think he wasn't on the list because Omnimon is on the list and only one place per evolution chain is allowed. Wargraymon is on Omnimon's evolution chain, I guess Blackwargraymon also counts. In my opinion, Blackwargraymon is not a part of nither Omnimon's or Agumon's evolution chain because he was created from these dark pillars which isn't natural for digimons, but it also means (and I think was mentioned) that digimons who created in this way aren't real digimons.

+Wolfblood92 He looked cool, was kinda badass as a villain, and had a cool voice. But he was mostly emo, and that kinda ruins it. Digimon Adventure 02 did a lot of things wrong, one of which was wasting the potential of Blackwargreymon.
Can't believe they didn't put Black Wargreymon on the list. The fusions aren't anything special after a while, but Black Wargreymon had a great character arc, personality, and was something completely unique from anything this show or other shows had done.

I haven’t seen so much of digimon just a few clips, but I love terriermon and lopmon! :)
I love Susanoomon! And if you look closely at the design of his armor, mainly the helmets on his forearms, the helmets of EmperorGreymon on the left and MagnaGarurumon on the right, to me that kinda reminds me of Omnimon who had WarGreymon for his left arm and MetalGarurumon as his right arm. And Shoutmon is also cool because he's a Digimon King! And Shoutmon X7 Superior Mode was awesome!
I knew she wouldn't be on this list, but Biyomon was always my favorite. Her and Sora were so caring towards others, and I loved watching them. My favorite episode was "Biyomon Gets Firepower' I've seen it 100 times lol

The Adventure series are way too overated , Tamers and Data Squad were awesome cuz you can join with your digimon in battle instead of just staying and watching , frontier took it too far by the way .
@@7256658Only because the franchise continues to revisit that verse after its initial run because of the love the fandom has for the cast. If they did with other seasons like Tamers and Savers, it wouldn’t be considered as overrated. Even though Adventure is my favorite I would love to revisit the Tamers universe again.

My all-time favourite has to be Guilmon from Digimon Tamers (season 3). "Takatomon" and, "Guilmon bread"-- whomever thought up those lines is a frickin genius!!!! :-)
Plus Guilmon has a tendency to be aloof but honest, and his digivolutions are quite powerful to top it all off. :-D
Shoutmon and Omnimon, both have the legendary power when Shoutmon got Omnimon's power for pass down generation as OmniShoutmon for Legendary Digivolution

I think the reason Pokemon is more popular is because it's a much simpler and upbeat show than Digimon but I've always liked Digimon better though.

The fact that Augumon, Greymon, Wargreymon, Gabumon, Garurumon, puppetmon, Blackwargreymon, Veemon and Flamedramon were not on the list was cringe worthy. Along with the fact that Terriermon was only an honorable mention.

Bryan Lariviere well Agumon, Greymon, Wargreymon, Gabumon, and garururmon are all part of omnimon's line and it was stated one digimon per line and it's the same with Veemon and Imperialdramon
he only allowed one Digimon per evo line thus why gabumon and agumon lines were excluded since omni which is a part of both is on the list at #1 Vee moon was on the list at the disagreeable #5 imperialdramon, and at least terriermon was on it .-.

Honestly, Beelzemon deserves to be second.
What is wrong with xros wars, they actually tried something new and it's really great series (except hunters) if messing up with level is a problem than frontier already did that.
Inamdar Yasin frontier was one of the worst digimon seasons I only remember the theme song from that season and that they had to ride on trailmon, digimon xwors/hunters isn’t terrible since fusions has always been in the series since season 1 with onmimon
