The symbol is actually an almost exact copy of a symbol from another comic by Grant Morrison called Nameless. Y’all check it out, there may be a connection between this movie and Nameless.

In a way, I do feel, is it looks, like an Superman Evil film, but I like how they're kind of showing, if Clark's never really went to the Kent's, what if he went to a different family, that weren't so understanding, that all humans are, that if one finds a baby and a alien spaceship, how would they react, would it be understanding, would they be a little standoffish because of him being different, so I like it how they're taking a different approach, on what if, he was sent to a different family, that weren't so understanding, and that didn't really understand how different he was, and also the fact that I have a feeling this kid might be being bullied, and what if his father never really gave him that talk, or fatherly talk about no you're different kind of saying and don't hurt other people, you know how Jonathan is, what is this father never really gave him that fatherly talk, because he himself was a little scared of his own son oh, so I like how this movie is kind of saying what ifs.

There are a number of Superman-like characters from multiple comic book companies other than DC. (I guess they don't own the idea of a strange visitor from another world...) Marvel has one called Hyperion in their Marvel MAX line (the same line that did the ultra-violent Punisher stories) who seems similar to the kid in the Brightburn trailer. He's found by a childless farm couple...and the government almost immediately takes him and raises him in a facsimile of American life (with the intent of making him the perfect American and the perfect weapon.
Things don't go well.

Personally I think this kid was sent to Earth to wipe out the planet. And him finding his pod. Which is most likely in the barn. Will set off some sort of brain chip reminding him of his mission.
