  • We travel to Namibia to celebrate my parents being married for over 40 years, repeating part of the road trip they did. We visit Etosha National Park, Damaraland Elephants, Swakpmound were we fish for sharks, Namib desert and the big Daddy dune and much more.
We also spend a few days bowhunting with my wife, both with the compound bow but also with the recurve bow; from a blind and also spot and stalk.
Great trip that allowed us to experience Namibia in a complete different level. Highly recommend it!!!

Un placer veros cazar y disfrutar juntos de todo lo bueno que ofrece la vida. En mi caso con el arco cazo más de vista que con la flecha, ya que es mucho más difícil de lo que tu haces que parezca fácil. Un saludo.

I’m a bow hunter and my family and I have started watching your videos with our meal with anticipation and enjoy the exploration and species. As a trad hu ter I was particularly excited to see you with a recurve at the beginning of this log. I also understand how hu ti g supports African communities. But I can not ignore my disgust when I watched animals in such poor drought stricken conditions be lured in by water and food and shot down gutlessly. That Sir is not hunting or supporting the preservation of hunting, it is a cowed act, very disappointing to see this episode Pedro.

Hey Matt thanks for your comment. The drought doesn’t affects animals ability to find clean water, they have plenty of water holes and rivers to go drink. Drinking water isn’t the problem, they do not need much and the property has a lot of running water. The problem of the drought is that it limits the grass that has grown, but by the time we arrived it had already done all the damage to the populations, so they weren’t starving anymore. Hunting in blinds in Africa is the traditional way and not only the most efficient way but the best tool for managing populations, as you can be very selective and judge animals properly. Its also not as easy as it may seem, as animals still can pick your wind, they will circle several times before coming, smell your tracks, see you moving, hear you etc.. they have waterholes and food all over the property, so they have plenty places to go. I don’t think it’s much different that hunting on a food plot, on a wallow etc… great strategy to hunt with the bow and secure the shots, specially for people with less experience. Spot and stalk is harder and I have more fun, that’s why the two animals with the compound I took where spot and stalk, but I definetly think it’s fair chase, and a way of hunting that requires a lot of patience, we were sitting the whole day, and also very interesting for management and conservation. Hope it makes sense, have a great day.
