  • There's just something about abandoned locations that make the best and most interesting exploring! The Old Hapuawhenua Viaduct and Tunnel are part of the larger Old Coach Road track that starts in Ohakune and are two fascinating pieces of New Zealand engineering. Both have since been abandoned in favour of the new Hapuawhenua Viaduct which is the tallest viaduct in the North Island Main Trunk line! The two viaducts crossing the forested gully is truly a sight to behold and definitely a must do when you're in the area!
    Enjoy!

Hey AG, the tunnel and the bridge reminds me of scenes from the tv show Walking Dead.lol AG, why are names of places there sounds like Hawaiian names? Be safe guys!

Haha ikr! Really fascinated by abandoned structures such as these! They sound Hawaiian since the indigenous people of NZ (the Maori) are also of Polynesian descent so they share the same language family. Hope you're doing well!
