The Who perform a selection of hits during the closing ceremony for the London 2012 Olympic Games during which the Olympic Flame is extinguished.
Every two years, the world's finest athletes gather at the Olympic Games - a spectacular celebration of sporting excellence that captures the attention of billions of people around the world. However, the Games are about much more than just sport. They bring the Olympic values to life and provide a global arena for a unique combination of sport, culture, education and ceremonies.
At the Olympic Games in London 2012, about 10,500 athletes from 204 countries compete in 26 different sports, comprising 302 medal events. Whether athletes win a medal or not, they can forever call themselves Olympians. The sporting competitions are undoubtedly the central focus of the Olympic Games and participating in the Games is the ultimate goal for most athletes.
Every edition has its own story to tell and will be remembered for some truly remarkable performances from sporting legends such as Jesse Owens, Abebe Bikila, Jean-Claude Killy, Nadia Comaneci, Katarina Witt, Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt, to name just a few.

Respect from New Zealand, also, my favourite band is The Who, and I'm 16, I also like Led Zepp too, but not as much as the legendary Who...... JB and other modern music are nowhere near as talented/great/enduring/powerful/raw as real music.......
It would've been cool, if they played Who Are You, or Won't Get Fooled Again, or even A Quick One, as well as My Generation........ Long Like The Who......................................

Yes, they are clearly older and Pete is greyer but Roger and Pete have held up remarkably well, especially Pete, considering all he's been through. Roger still has, as much as it pains a Beatlemaniac like me to admit this, the best true rock and roll voice EVER.

Pink Floyd with "Comfortably Numb" as in Pulse..or David Bowie with "Heroes" (with some of the text changed). or Led Zeppelin with "Stairway to Heaven" (Better than Kate Bush's "Running up that Hill") would have been good.

crazedvikingfan28 Man, if it was still, just the four of them, everyone would be screaming and jumping up and down, now with the drums mic,ed, Keith was thunderous, even without a mic'ed drumkit, I reckon he would've blown the power circuitry if he was in this, and John, I play bass because of him, and I play drums because of Keith.......
With his dark humor, he would've thundered through the songs, in fact, I reckon in this, if it was the four of them, all of them including John, would smash their instruments lol, Or aren't they allowed (Hwww it's twoo emature), they would've done it anyway lol......

+Shaun Templey Did you see the vid. in the States where Keith actually blew up his drums by putting twice the amount of fireworks explosive in? That's why Pete is deaf in one ear. Also, I saw a clip when Keith came staggering on stage, determined to play his drums, & passed out, after downing horse tranquillisers with brandy. So a guy in the audience, got to play with The Who!!! Legend.

He played at the opening ceremony rather than this show which is the closing ceremony. As for him not being on this channel McCartney's first song had major sound issues and though they only lasted a few seconds they make the broadcast version unsuitable for uploading here.
