Now the funny car's back in the day.... Looked like cars on the street. And everybody jacked up the rear of the car mag wheels....WOW the good ole days. Great job Chris.👍👍👍👍👍
Beautiful kit! Love the burpose-built body. Other kits from this Era have stock bodies with actual door handles on them. Preprinted tires -- what a luxury. And that transmission tunnel behind the engine is probably a 2-speed Lenco transmission. Nice build, Chris.
Great build Chris. Nice save on the rocker panel decal. That one almost got away. To those that dismiss MPC kits you're missing out on some great kits. MPC put out models that other companies didn't.
Thanks for posting your video and review and build of the MPC Dodge Challenger Ramchargers Funny Car Chris! I ordered 2 of these kits yesterday and I can't wait for them to come in the mail to me as it's been years since I've built a funny car model kit!
Nicely done Chris. Glad round 2 mpc re-issued this kit. I missed buying the kit back in the day(30+ years ) now I can buy it when the hobby shop gets it in.
Nice job on this one Chris! Looks like it’s ready to go kick butt! Thanks for the time you put into these videos and showing the process to achieve the great results. Have happy and safe 4th! 🧨
I love the work you do. Wish I still had the nerves to build like I did as a kid. Being a funny car fan from the sixties and seventies there is one thing you seem to miss. You paint the aluminum work. The piece that fit under the body is aluminum. No funny car I ever saw painter the aluminum work.
I sure wish my paint jobs came out like yours. I followed your directions, used the same paint, first one came out all orange peel. Stripped that, tried again, plastic melted in parts. Plus more orange peel. Tried polishing, wet sanding with 2500 grit paper. no luck. AMT International 4070A kits.
Since I'm using super glue, if I glue it as I'm putting the tires on there is a good chance the glue will fog the tires. Hollow tires are easy to stretch over so I glue the wheels together before I mount the tires most cases. Solid tires I will press in the wheels from each side. If they fit loose I use rubber cement to hold them.
You do mean liberally on the Floor polish application.!! Wow.! How many coats max have you ever needed? Also I believe this was also the "Soapy Sales" challenger.. I built..
Beauty build. BTW - about the armature you use to wear your tires - is there a 1/24 scale armature also? Where can I find them? (please be laughing about now). But no kidding, the kit came out looking very nice. Thanks for doing this!
This was the first fuel Funny Car to break into the 6's. Leroy Goldstein ran a 6.98, to be first in the 6's. Great moment in drag racing history.
Very cool moment in drag racing history & now we have
drag week street cars (Tom Bailey) running in the 5's @ 250+ ✌😎
Yes sir you are absolutely right, it was the 1st funny to Break 6's in the 1/4 ,

i have been waiting to see what is inside the box / how this builds up. Thanks for posting this video!

Nice build, Chris.
Looks great - lots of decals in this one.
Thank you! Cheers!

Thanks, the MPCs tend to work out well for me but I love box stock as-is builds so I'm not needing the absolute in scale perfection.
Nicely built detailing is amazing I love funny cars
I have that in a 1/32nd scale slot car. Great build I love it.
Another sweet kit you have brought to all of us, well done on the build I myself just picked up the Mr Norm’s Charger 👍🇦🇺

Great Build!
Great vid thank you. Doing one now. But was in the pledge bottle. Thanks
Great job on the window trim - a sure and steady hand
Very cool build up as usual Chris
Very neat! I noticed there's more coats of paint on that old Tamiya model stand than some old Army barracks!
amazing Chris those decals scare me
New sub! Liked

Fantastic mate👍
Hi
Nice job a very easy kit to build thanks as always!
Well done!

It seems you glued the back wheel two halves together before putting the tire on. Why do you do this? I'm just wondering....
He will tell you, "just personal preference". He does this on all of his kits - if the tires themselves are flexible enough to stretch over the rims.
It also gives the glue joint time to cure before the tires get mounted.
Since I'm using super glue, if I glue it as I'm putting the tires on there is a good chance the glue will fog the tires.

Nice build. What's in the pipette, CA kicker? Thanks.
Nicely done
Love to see your vídeos. I don't build dragsters, but I like to see your vídeos.
Pity --they're so easy to detail with the minimal open chassis and every viewer can see everything you've added.
You can almost smell the nitro . . .
Glad you like them!
What kind of masking tape do you use?
Quick question. Do you wash your models before you paint them?
What's the name of that pink tape you use for masking. I gotta get this one.
Washi tape, it's a craft tape.
Thanks. You mentioned it in a past video but forgot the name.
ever put the floor wax in a spay bottle and apply
You do mean liberally on the Floor polish application.!! Wow.! How many coats max have you ever needed?
Also I believe this was also the "Soapy Sales" challenger.. I built..
Like Tamiya airbrush thinner, Pledge/Future lays down as it dries rather than just acting as a clear coat.
Two coats has sufficed for 99% of the kits I do.
Beauty build. BTW - about the armature you use to wear your tires - is there a 1/24 scale armature also? Where can I find them? (please be laughing about now). But no kidding, the kit came out looking very nice. Thanks for doing this!
I don't remember Chris commenting, but I think he uses a long ratchet wrench socket -- pick the one that fits your tires.
@@randytaylor1258 another of my jokes - not funny enough...
LOL, well we use metric for 1/24 and SAE for 1/25 of course! Thanks again bud!
