RIP Lisa Loring. You brought Wednesday to life and made me smile. I'd been revisiting these scenes for the past few weeks and enjoying this old show from my childhood. Love when she says, "You've GOT it Lurch!!"
It's kind of a shame that Tim Burton or whomever was running the camera on that day cut away too quickly.... the little tribute to the original TV show is a "blink and you'll miss it" moment at the 2:12 mark. And at 2:35, she's clearly inspired by the old PEANUTS dance too, LOL.
the modern version of the dance is Tim Burton being a wonderful director… whereas the old one has a fixed framing and the actress is good at entertaining
Look in her interview... she made up the dance on her own. She said she's not a good dancer so she stayed up 2 nights finding perfect moves for the scene
Jenna Ortega did justice ! in our current society girls gotta be in g strings showing off their surgeon bodies, she is fully dressed, very classy and doing a great dance! I think it is a great lesson to new generations that class and originality will never die !!!!

Secondly you mention dance moves. The new one Jenna is much older and I suspect had expert Choreographers working with her and she was much older than the original Wednesday so her movements should be more advanced as opposed to a little girl whom I suspect had very little if any training. Lighter Performance well that is a matter of opinion I find the original version much lighter as it much more innocent and whole hearted. As far as the creation time of the show there was no Computer generated effects or fancy lighting just to name a few. Thanks for pointing that out. It made me realize how much better the original really was.

She uses the word "square" as an insult, also very 60s. Her lighter demeanor fits in with very family friendly tv of the 60s. So the old show and the old Wednesday are a product of their time as well as the new Wednesday. So she is not timeless. Ray Ban's Aviator sunglasses, those are timeless. A three piece suit is timeless. But this Wednesday is super 60s and wouldn't fit in a tv show today, which is fine, it's not a bad thing. But it's not timeless.
If you look at the 60s dance then the Jenna Wednesday, she does a little bit of the original dance, nice touch, Jenna made that dance up which is cool, now my family all have an Addams Family, I'm 59 so mines is the 60s show, my daughters is the 90s movie and now my 16yr old goth/skater granddaughter has her Addams family, it was her who told me to watch the show as her and her mum had seen it all so i binged it on xmas night and wow it was great! hope there's more to come, I also loved Gomez and Morticia are right out from the comic strip and that their Hispanic background is touched upon, of course Thing, Pugsley, Uncle Fester were all fab,💀 the school was cool, the story was great but i knew who the monster was by eps 4 still loved it. Jenna Wednesday dance has some cool moves like the drooped hands back and forth. (which I think is very cat-like.) But the overall effect doesn't strike me as all Goth. Tho I did like the head lean away from the guy as if to say, "you are nothing to me." Wednesday's Goth, to me, is an indifferent and sinister attitude, not a "come hither" attitude. If she pulled a guy to her, I feel she would look him up and down, and then either push him away or to the ground. But mine is only one perspective.
She said in an interview that she learned and did the original dance, and all but a flash of a second made it to the film. But, with the things as they are, maybe someone will have mercy on our souls over at the tv show and release the bit for us to enjoy. I'll write a strongly worded letter, that'll do it.
Whether Jenna's made v up her Wednesday dance or choreographed, I think nI understand where some of Jenna's moves were inspired from. I think each part relates to the other Addams Family members. Lurch is the choppy moves, the hands could either be Morticia or Hand (too obvious though), Hand could be the droopy swinging arms... just sayin.
