I’m glad for people who want to put app wherever they want on the home screen. I personally only have apps on the dock and search for the rest. That way my background photo isn’t obstructed.
Same. I won't use it much, but it needs to happen. Apple really ought to let us make our phones work for us. Just a little more control. I'm OK with apple dictating the experience to some degree, that's where their polish shines through. But they really need to lighten up just a little, and they've slowly been doing that it seems like. As an android/iphone user who is very likely to try the 16 pro max when it's out since I've been with Samsung for 4 years now and it's getting boring although the experience is good.
Same here. I started using and Android phone and I'm not even bother about the icon arrangements and themes. I deleted every theme app I downloaded. Although, Android has a lot of cool features but I prefer iOS.
Same, I haven’t had a grid of apps on my Home Screen in quite some time. I just use widgets and a few apps.
@chydi10 yup. Most iphone users are fine with it. Otherwise they would have switched long ago. It still makes sense for apple to allow more customization, but it's hardly an issue for most iphone users. They definitely need to do it though.
I'm really excited about the updates. I'm super excited about WWDC this year and can't wait to see the updates

Its a shame that some of these home screen updates are ones that Android has had for many years. At the same time, you can likely add them in through a smaller iOS update. I'm still looking forward to these updates though.
I currently have the iPhone 13 Pro . Thinking about getting the 15 pro. But I don’t know if I should wait for the next phone?
Up to you mate , personally , i`d wait , if your 13 is still doing the job ok , i dont think you are going to gain that much by going to the 15 , unless you really must have every last little tweak .

YES! Wait! I always google the difference between the one I have and the one I (think) I might want.
I have the 14 pro max and honestly, there’s not much difference between the 13 and 14. I questioned moving up to the 15 Pro Max and there is like two or three different things the 15 pro max has that my 14 Pro Max doesn’t.
Which in my opinion means you wouldn’t really benefit from upgrading. Don’t fall for the trap of the ‘sales’ going on for the 15 at the moment. They’re only doing that to get rid of them for the 16. Trust me, I’m so impatient but when I noticed the only real benefit of having the 15 pro max ti me was a camera lenses. I was like nope I’m waiting. You can do it! 🙃

I would like to see when texting that you could use different colors for texting for example, if you want to send a text in different types of color patterns that you could do that. I think that would be cool. Instead of just a black text goes up on the screen change the font colors or the font style I think that would be cool

I have a question. I want to use Siri on my iPhone but my apple speakers in my off office often answers instead. How can I isolate which device listens to my request?

Set the phone to activate when “Siri or Hey Siri” then you can say “Siri ……” you phone will answer but your HomePods should not.
I wish the App setup was more like androids. So clean

WHAT I WANT: one thing. I want one button or one tap - something - to instantly mute program apps like YT, Spotify, Etc. Muting the “phone” does not do that and I wouldn’t want it to. But when I’m listening to something on speaker and someone comes in and wants to talk…I want to shut off the streaming sound with ONE event. Is that too much to ask?

AI will transform mobile phones very soon, and I can’t wait for it 🐬

iOS changes numbers on version. I think that will be the most noticeable. In recent years, little has otherwise happened. And that's OK. iPhone works fine. This means that we do not need to buy a new iPhone because of new and exciting functions.

I`m not really excited , because often there is masses of hype with rumors , and then more often than not , our expectations where just a little bit high😪 , but we live in hope 😄, that being said , yes i would look forward to some better personalization of the home screens , and maybe more of a focus on making some things which are way harder than they should be , for example being sent a file or link or an image , or sending a file or link or image to some one else or even to your own other devices can sometimes be a pain in the ass with the operation needing you to jump through hoops , when it should just work with one or two clicks .
maybe sorting out the iphones keyboard so when your typing a couple of paragraphs , the bloody thing does not for no apparent reason scroll up or down so you lose your place , and then you have to go hunting to find where you where up to 😠.
The chat gpt thing , i suspect for a lot of people who just use a phone like a phone for basic stuff really doesnt offer that much for a lot of us , hopefully as you mentioned , the AI will be incorporated to make daily phone use smarter and easier , or smart AI so its often happening but we dont notice it is .

It really mystifies me not why people like certain apple products as I have a few of my own . But how they love and defend a company that never gives back even to its most loyal customers . Doesn't have the integrity to fix or make anything better like Seri or the lighting cable , or the 60 Herz iPhones in 2024 unless they are forced to simply because they know Apple sheep will just keep buying anyway . The company has pushed back innovation and customer appreciation for a while . Only to be rewarded for it in sales . I guess Apple channels can't really say any of this but how the so many customers don't is mystifying
Oh i dunno , the iphones run pretty well with 60 hz , i can happily pick up my iphone 12 and use it , its still performs well , it is not much different to my 14 pro max , , however on a low end android phone , often they will need 120 hz to not seem under powered or laggy , i use the lightning cable on my iphones sometimes and it still does the job ok , yes i know android had usb 2.0 even on my 7 year old galaxy S8+ , meh who cares , general use they still work ok , we still get updates on iphones not only frequently , but usually withing 24 hours , unlike android that can take weeks or months and be a total mixed bag depending on your device and or location .
The iphone hardware is good , it has magsafe which i use every single day , despite having 3 android phones i still carry an iphone as my daily because it just does the basic things well with a minimum of fuss , the app store is better , the eco system is better , and me being still an android boy since 2012 saying this .
Are iphones perfect , no , just like android phones not by a long shot !
But they are pretty good , loyality should not come into it , in the end they are all just tools , if you think samsung , google or apple are there to give you a reward for buying hteir stuff , i think you may be disappointed in the long run , all of them are just in it for a buck .
I am very excited for these updates, we absolutely need to see much better AI a much better Siri and better voice to text and maybe Apple will even give us auto transcription across all apps. As it is, iOS is falling far behind android with software features and AI And it’s painful
All these things you are so excited about have been used for a while now by many other phone companies. Apple tries to make their own based on Android and will probably use some similar things. Then they will upsell it to people like you who feel like it's something newer or more innovative.
I’m guessing Apple will only make AI available on only the newest iPhone 16 Pro Versions.
Apple is all about making you buy the newest Pro iPhones for incremental improvements or upgrades.
As a lifelong Apple user I’m definitely getting disappointed in Apples focus on making money more than innovation and Apple constantly being behind Samsung in features and innovation.
If Apple doesn’t get rid of that big worthless Dynamic Eyesore with the 16 release I’ll be buying a Galaxy S25 Ultra when that gets released.

With the current pattern and iOS 18 being a relatively intensive update with the generative stuff. I believe it’s a 90% lock that iPhone XS and iPhone XR will be dropped.

I am not sure that I would consider this an 'upgrade'. Aping features from Android is no 'improvement'. Give real control Apple, let me choose my email program, a real choice in browsers, keep AI out of my phone, make it simple for me to use the phone and keep your data collection to yourself. I am REALLY uninterested in inviting Google into my phone, otherwise I would use Google apps or just buy an Android.
