Really like the DA idea. Investigators could find the lead because he died in a similar way to Claire, then maybe find that he was targeting the ChoChos. That could help reinforce the clue about the ChoChos being involved in the first place.

So many other options for this other than the street folks. Even a group of urban explorers or other folks living in downtown who are socially conscious would work well.
If you are going to use the street community as the PCs you really need to focus the scenario on the PCs. Like, that initial victim was close to them but then the evil comes after them, making it personal.
Another option would be to set this in the 70s and make the PCs a NYC guardian gang or other street gang.

I love the idea of setting this in the '70s - feels like the grittiness would really come through. And it would totallt work if the initial murder was a fellow guardian. Nice!

@@1ShotJC you could still tie it into the street people by maybe having the Guardian victim having happened as they were saving a street person.
Now your street people characters have a sort of moral reason to take up the cause. "He died trying to help one of us!"

Is Crazy George based on Ugly George, the videographer who did lascivious "vox pops" in New York on Public Access TV ?. I'm at a bit of loss about how to describe his content.

Haven’t lived in the NY area in ages so I’m not familiar… but doesn’t feel like it’s related from how he’s described here!

Yeah, you can also make the players find crazy dude already dead and then they have to piece together the rituals and stuff from all his drawings and occult notes they find in his camp. Obviously it is all scrambled up and it's hard to make sense and separate te crazyness from the real occult knowledge. Since It isn't likely the party can survive a confrontation with 2 armed gang members and I don't wanna have crazy dude Hadouken the players out of it. I figured best to make the PCs find all 3 of them dead. You can make some of them perhaps be dying when players get there and he mumbles some information to point them to the lair before dying.

Yeah, really like the idea of one of those gang members severely wounded, scared, and unable to leave the tunnels on his own - he's still a real threat, but also someone who can be negotiated with to get some more background, like the location of the Tcho Tcho's hideout...

I really do love this scenario a lot, I ran it as part of a campaign. Using the scenarios Unbearable Likeness, and We have, We are, We will be. In part of this one and a few others. And it was a hit cuz of how I brought all the players in. As a one off it’s not to great but in a campaign it’s a great part to have. Also most players I’ve had , really took to being homeless and thought it was great. Cuz they got to rp a lot more, especially for my new players

Oh cool I’ll have to check out those other scenarios!

@@1ShotJC they are really good cuz they give a fair amount of background to the gang.

Yeah - on the homeless assumption better to go with maybe some of the teams are CZcamsrs (or similar) doing a documentary, maybe one is living roof for the week for research; one as an under cover cop or similar helps with the gang angle, others just live near a large group of the homeless (though that is more an LA than NYC thing)
Easy to keep the connection to the theme
Even then don’t play with groups unable to be immersive and considerate

I really like the idea of a documentary crew doing this adventure

New York doesn’t have Alleys, Real Estate is too valuable. There’s one alley that is just used for filming “New York scenes” and it’s constantly busy.

Weak!! If someone in RL is homeless, why are they playing CoC???
